I need VQ advise for MNSSHP

Part of our are only going to MK for the party. Part of our group will meet us there after leaving AK. Part of our group will be at MK all day. I hope the ones there all day will ride Tron earlier during the day. At what time can I select the group that will try for the VQ? I know i will not be fast enough if I have to wait til 6pm and select my party. Can this be done prior to 6 PM? Also can I buy an ILL for Tron earlier during the day to be used between 4pm and 7pm , if I only have a party ticket? We will have a 3 year old and need to do a rider swap, will she need a VQ spot? Also we will have a 6 year old who may back out once she sees the ride. Can someone else use their spot since they will have a child ticket? Sorry for the question overload. This is our !st Halloween party, and first time using ILL and VQ. If both kids ends up not riding, What are the odds part of the group will miss their time while they wait with the kids for the rest to ride. I don't think we can wait in the child swap area if only the adults are riding and are just swapping baby sitters.

Typically you have 1 hour before the VQ window to set your party, but really, it only takes a few seconds. I’d set an alarm for 5:55 pm that day and name it Tron VQ just to remember what you were doing! Trust me, I just got back from the parks and I kept forgetting what I was supposed to get ready for all week, lol.

Also, yes, someone else could use it, just scan in with the kids Magic band or card or whatever they’re using to scan into the park. However, if the 1 hour return time is kept consistent, it may be difficult to get into the line twice in one hour!

It has been reported with first hand experience that you cannot buy the Tron ILL with only the party ticket.

Edit: I bought the Tron ILL$ and the 7DMT ILL for the 9/12 party with only the MNSSHP ticket. So the previous reports I’d read were not correct.

Even though I’m the one who originally posted that, I, in fact, did buy the ILL for both Tron and 7DMT with only the MNSSHP ticket for the 9/12 party. Maybe I should go back and edit that post! (I just edited it.)

Thanks for this information. We were thinking of going to MNMCP this year with the main goal to ride Tron a few times and just noticed it is VQ for that as well. We are APs but will not be active by then (no real trips planned until later next year so not renewing) so first time going to a special event without a AP ticket. Happy to hear we can buy ILL for Tron just with the special event ticket and then at 6pm try for VQ. Any feedback if people are getting shut out for VQ for during MNSSHP? How fast is it going at 6pm? Thanks for any insight!
