I asked?

Seriously.
I told my mom and dad I wanted an iPod a few weeks before my birthday and I got one.
I told them I wanted a cell a few months before Christmas and I got one.

Unfortunately both of those have broken beyond repair now so I'm back to square one.
Ah, well.

Good luck.

I asked.

I get rewards for getting good grades (at least honors), too.

If they say no, though, there's probably good reason. Like the fact that my mom owes me an iPod from first quarter, but she still needs to pay off her credit card and we're going to WDW at least 3 times this year, so I'm ok with not having it yet. I've got a mp3 player that works, so I'm happy.

Another way to get it is to save your money. Ask for an allowance, or do chores for money. That's how I got my phone.

Asking doesn't always work. When I ask for things, I get a no.
Cell phone: I need to earn money for the plan
iPod/MP3 Player: Waste of money, according to my parents
Dog: My parents can't watch the dog because both of my parents are at work during the day and I already have 3 cats and a fish

Dog: Only get a dog if you're sure you'd take care of it. A dog is ALIVE, and you need to take care for it all day.

For everything else, just be super nice to your parents, help out a little more 'round the house, and ask. The worst they can say is no.

Don't beg or plead and definatley don't say It's not fair or everyone else has one. Also come up with a logical reason why you would want one and look online for features you and your parents like. Do stuff without your parents having to ask you a million times. Also show your parents you can take on responsibilitys and you aren't going to give up after a few weeks. Or you can save up some of your own money. Hope I Helped!

On the dog... I can't really tell you to go about getting them to get you one. Ever since I saw 101 Dalmatians (and I was probably not even 1) I wanted a dog. I begged and pleaded, and they always said it would be too much to take care of. Then finally on my 11th birthday they finally told me I could have one.
I didn't do anything to make them think I could look after him, they just decided it was time I guess.

My MP3 player I got the summer after I went to Florida. My brother had bought one himself about a year before that and I really wanted one. When we were in a Best Buy in Florida I asked my dad if I could buy one and he said sure but we decided to buy it at home because the prices weren't that different. One day my brother needed to go to Futureshop so we went and I picked one out that I wanted and offered to pay half (the MP3 was like 200, so I paid close to 100). Anyways, sadly my Creative is slowly dying for unknown reasons (and possibly from being thrashed into my bookbag everyday). I'm either getting a job and buying an Ipod, or I'm gonna go halfway with my parents again. My mum might be able to win me one from work.. it's not a good chance, but there still is one.

I don't have a cellphone though. My parents don't use theirs as it is (I use it) and they don't want to go buy me one (and then they'd have to let my brother get one and well, it just wouldn't work out with him being for far away). They won't buy either of us the pay as you go type, because we would never actually use the minutes and well, they expire.
And technically I don't really need it as long as they still have their phone.

Just ask. As for the dog, try to think of some super good reasons that'll tug at their heartstrings. It worked for me when I got my two dogs, cat, and guinea pig.

Dog: Tell them youre lonly (haha just kidding!, uhm..yeah..well...basically I told them how I wanted a cat and if it didnt work out then we would a.give it back or B. not get another one)

MP3- saved up the money and said "I saved up my own money and I was wondering if i could buy *insert mp3 name here*" sound prepared!! DO NOT MAKE IT SEEM LIKE YOU DECIDED THIS AT LAST MINUTE

Cellular Device...ha...um..yeah LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG LONG months of taking polls on how many of my budz have one and stuff.. i still didnt get one, when they felt i was ready they gave me one

Be nice. Help around the house.
Asking doesn't always work with the snap of a finger. You have to let them know you deserve it.

Show them you are responsible enough to have a cell phone, or a dog.
As for the iPod, i would suggest either saving up your own money or asking for one as a birthday gift.

I honestly have no idea how you'd get them to give you a dog. When I was born my parents already owned 2 dogs, 2 cats, 3 birds, and fish...so I've always had a bunch of animals at my house. XD I guess just prove to them that you can be responsible enough to take care of a pet. They aren't toys and can be a lot of work sometimes to take care of, but they're totally worth it. Especually when you look into those cute, little puppy dog eyes. :cloud9:

I asked my parents for an Ipod and and Cell phone and got them both at for Christmas a while ago. It took a lot of convincing before they finally got me the phone, but I just kept reminding them how much easier it would be to get a hold of me while I wasn't with them if I had a phone. When I finally did get one they put us on the family plan so we get free calls to family members and unlimited texting.

I asked nicely. Don't beg though, because if they say no, then there's a reason.

Ok people. I have to tell you something. I have already asked my parents nicely for a cellphone. Then, they said no. I am a only child, so a brother or sister wouldn't be asking for one too. My birthday was on the 2nd of January, so it's too late to ask now. I have enough money to buy a cellphone, but they want me to save up my money for the Disney trip we are going on in March. But, I just thought of a idea. I could buy a cellphone with my own money at Disney and that would work as a souviner! That is a great idea!
