I need to vent!

I just picked ds that has a seizure disorder and he told me that he felt sick in ccd and was dizzy and felt like the floor was moving and after skipping church thinking he was having small seizure he tells me that he was reading to class (he struggles with school )the ccd teacher says when he got stuck "boy you need to learn how to read" I am sooooooooooo mad.

I would definately have a talk with that CCD teacher. Those kind of comments can stay with a child for a long time.

I would most definitely have a chat with the teacher and the person that is in charge of the CCD classes.

I am sorry that your son had to go through that with the CCD teacher. She was VERY wrong and inconsiderate to have made such a statement.

I taught CCD.. High School kids.. ( oh Lord in Heaven that was wild)
I have a suggestion. Please talk not only to the CCD teacher but to the program director. It is a way to help other kids who may have problems. I know our CCD sign up forms did NOT have any place to note medical or LD facts about the child.

I'm sorry that happened. As a CCD teacher I would never say that-I teach 2nd graders and a lot of them struggle but I would never say anything to them. I am not a certified school teacher but even if I was it is not my place as a CCD teacher to say that! I too would talk not only to the teacher but the Religious Ed person in charge (at the same time)
