I need to vent-is that ok?

It's really hard to explain because I dont want to think about it. But, I know that we are just kids but for some reason it bothers me when people worry about how their hair, or makeup looks. It's like the whole world will come crashing down if their hair isnt perfect

Please dont hate me for this but, i've had to deal with so many problems in my life, and the latest just kills me inside. It's going to be a stressful week for me because im dreading thursday.

All I just wanted to say was that there are other people with bigger problems like terminal cancer. How you look shouldnt matter...

And be thankful you have your hair.

I know I just made a thread about hair, and I hope that was just a coincedence. However, I am going to defend this thread personally.

I care about my outword appearance. I dont want my hair to be a jumbled mess, I want to wear clothes that flatter my body type, and yes I do wear make up. However I also take a HUGE part in promoting Global Warming awarness, am part of Amnesty International at my school, have attended many Darfur protests (One of which actually got the company we were protesting too to pull their fule supply). I have a father who has literally escaped death three times, and many family members with cancer. I know life is short, and yes the world is not going to end if my hair is not perfect. However, my appearance gives my confidence. And without confidence I would not be the member (and leader) of so many causes that I am today.

I know some people are shallow, and they ONLY care about looks. But I hope my case shows that looks can help people accomplish great things in their lives. (Even if it is just a confidence boost.)

I don't see what's wrong with caring about how they look. I care about how I look, I straighten my hair daily, wear eye makeup, etc.

OP, if you choose not to wear makeup or do your hair, nobody's making you do those things. But you shouldn't be mad at people who do do those things. It makes people feel good about themselves when they look nice!

Weren't you the same person complaining about makeup and short clothing? Don't be so upset about other people looking pretty.

But I agree with Princess Dot.
I mean appearance counts on alot of things.
Like getting the job you want, looking professional, impressing the guy you like...
You can't just walk out of the house with your hair up in all places and your clothes dirty with stains from a week ago.

Does it hurt you if people want to look decent? No, it doesn't. So who cares?
So if it is physically hurting you if people wear make-up or their hair looks nice, then you can complain!
Everyone has different tastes in clothing and you just have to deal with it.

Im not mad at those people. It's just they dont know how good they've got it. Everyday of my life im reminded that my dads brain tumors going to come back and kill him. Im really sorry if it came out like im mad at those people. I just get frustrated and I cant talk to my parents.
I dont want to make enemies on this board. I just get mad every three months when my dad goes for an mri. I apologize if i've offended anyone.

That is what I meant. And thanks imabrat. I dont mind those who cre about their hair and makeup. Its just those who obsess about it. Of course I want to look pretty and I do. Its just those who obsess about that stuff really dont have a clue.

i tend to care about how i look. i like the stick straight emo hair with the bangs infront of your eyes but if my bangs wont do what i want them to i just wear a beanie(thats whata they're for right? XD) and i wear eye makeup....i like doing these things because it makes me feel good

Look, I realize that people wear makeup because it makes them confident but what really matters the most to me is whats on the inside. I guess another thing is that people want to look like the celebrities. But they arnt perfect...
