I need to see your park bag for Universal!

I got some helpful advice from a few posters before, but I'm still not sure what kind of bag to bring to IoA due to the weird ride restrictions. I loved having my small backpack at WDW, but I'd have to store it in a locker at Universal from what I understand. I'd love a bag that I could carry over my shoulder and easily wrap around my waist when getting on the ride-- I don't like fanny packs, but I definitely don't want to deal with lockers.

I'm worried that whatever bag I get will be too big and I'll go through the line only to be told I can't get on the ride with my bag. I think I'm unnecessarily worried about it. Show me some pictures of your bags so I can calm down and make a decision? Thanks!

If it helps, I'll be with my husband, no kids... so no baby stuff to bother with. I just need to carry camera, money/cards, phone, medicine, travel size sunscreen/anti-bac, and a small fan and mister if possible.

I used a larger size coach wristlet...tix, room key, lip gloss and a sunscreen stick (takes less room). Was able to strap it to my beltloop and tuck it under my shirt

Have fun!!

Thanks, damo. That one's a bit more expensive than I want to pay, but I'm hoping I can find something comparable at Wal-Mart or Target. I doubt I'll use it for anything else after our day at IoA.

Just to clarify: you are allowed to bring that bag on the ride with you as long as you strap it around your waist, right?

Oh, a wristlet might be a good idea and I know it's not hard to find inexpensive ones. Thanks, Ohiodislover! My only concern there would be with carrying my mister and fan, both of which are necessities to me due to the heat. They are both relatively small, but not that small, unfortunately!

from a recent thread, I think people have good luck with getting on rides with waist packs. Or, that was my understanding. But I reported that during our June trip, a couple with average sized waist packs had to put them in the lockers. Just letting you know that it's possible that you wouldn't be able to ride with them.

I've just decided to rock a fanny pack. I'm not excited about it, and I'm sure my husband will have loads of giggles, but I'd rather do that than deal with lockers. With three kiddos, I need "stuff".
I bought a cheap black one at Target for about $10.50. Hopefully, I won't lose all my cool points in one day.:lmao:

I have a wrislet that you can unhook - slip thur 2 belt loops then rehook to the other side of the bag. Thanks for saying that - I have been debating about a bag to carry

does a wrislet have to go thur Disney bag check??

It's all about safety...for the riders and non-riders alike. I'm sure you wouldn't want to be standing somewhere minding your own business and have a camera or cell phone hit you in the head now would you? Universal's rides are more intense than Disney's which calls for safety regulations to be heightened.

Sorry, Metro West. I understand your point. Just having a difficult time figuring out what to bring.

Something actually hit me in the chin on Splash Mountain and left a welt. Never found out what that was!

Technically, they want any bag that goes around your waist to be fastened by a three prong buckle.

People with wristlets have have to put them in a locker. There are some very inexpensive little fanny packs at Walmart that really just look like a little rectangle hanging from a belt.

Can I use something like this? It attaches to the wrist with a three prong buckle. I got so sick of putting my bag in a locker last year. I have a great sling pack for Disney, but I'm hoping this will work for my 2 days at Universal.

I used the Vera Bradley Mini-Hipster when I was in Universal this past April and just last week when I was at Cedar Point and Holiday World. I would put it under my t-shirt across my shoulders when I went on rides and never had a problem. I put my smaller camera, lipstick, money, small suntan lotion and id.

I see your point as well. I know it's frustrating trying to figure out what to bring but the best advice is keep it to a minimum. I always wear cargo shorts so I don't have to deal with the lockers.
