I Need to Know How to Pack Two Items

As I mentioned before I am flying with DH for the first time since I was twelve years old. I've got everything just about packed but there I two items that I am not sure if I need to pack in my carry-on "liquids" baggie, checked-luggage, or if I am not allowed to bring at all.
They are : a 2oz. can of shaving cream(travel size Barbasol can) & a 2 oz. travel size of Lysol spray.
I know they are aerosol containers but they are very small. Please let me know if you have brought these on an airplane. The website for Southwest is not clear on that.

You can bring them either in your checked luggage or in your quart size baggie. If we're checking bags I only bring what I HAVE to have in my quart size baggie. So those are both items I would just check. Now if you're doing carry-on only then ya gotta make 'em fit in that baggie...

Actually the lysol is prohibited in both checked and carryon luggage it is a hazardous material the shaving cream you can take in either your baggie or checked luggage.

The above is correct. No Lysol allowed in carry-on or checked baggage.

Instead, you can bring Lysol wipes. I carry the travel size pouches that I get from Target on board with my carry ons.

And there's no restriction on carrying the wipes onboard.

One more question: Should I put locks on our checked luggage or not?
I have heard others say that thieves can get in anyway and the inspectors can get in if they want to.

I don't think you are allowed to lock your checked luggage.

There are TSA-approved locks that can be used. TSA has special keys to open these locks.

You can't take Lysol. Aerosols are limited to personal care and health/beauty items, so hair spray is okay but Lysol is not. In all my flying, this was news to me and I just learned it a few weeks ago myself...I've often packed it, not realizing it wasn't allowed.

We just came home yesterday traveling from HPN to PBI and back and my wife had a "lysol to go spray can" in one of our 1 quart bags.The baggie was in one of our carry on bags and was not a problem.So I think that your information might be wrong...

My information isn't wrong, but as with anything that is prohibited some do get by. My sister accidently left a bottle of pepsi in her carryon a few weeks ago it wasn't caught because the agents were focused on all the "wires" in her bag, the "wires" were the power cords for her electronics

I travel from Dallas to Orlando 4-5 times a year and also always carry the lysol to go spray cans in my carry on. No one has said anything yet and it's always in clear open view in the quart bag sitting in the bin. That's not to say someone may not confiscate it my next trip, but so far not a single TSA agent in either Dallas or Orlando has said a word about it.

Target started selling in the travel size area a small can of disenfectant like lysol (target brand)! I gave my mom one yesterday to bring on her cruise to spray the cabin.

I guess I'll have to look into it more on the airline's website!

You have to check the TSA website since they are ones that set the rules - not the airlines.

The TSA site is very specific about what you can and cannot take on a plane.

That is what I meant by the rule for bringing the travel Lysol not being perfectly clear.

No it doesn't. Lysol is not a toiletry and you can't use it for personal care ie:you can't spray it on yourself so it is prohibited.
