We've decided to do the regular dining plan (makes financial sense given the number of character meals, and the fact that our kids are under age 9)

I now need to cut a couple of our TS meals, so we use all of our CS credits (and I think I booked too many because I love to eat lol)

We know we are keeping 1900 Park Fare breakfast, Chef Mickeys breakfast and the Akershus Princess Dinner, as our kids really want those 3.

Here are the others I'm trying to decide amongst. If we do Jiko then I can only a total of 3 of these. If we drop Jiko I can do 4. Thanks!

Our kids are 3 and 6, and not very adventurous eaters. DH and I love all types of food, and we love good wine. We are staying at the Grand Floridian, which is why our reservations are fairly monorail-focused.

Kona
The Wave
Ohana
Grand Floridian Cafe
Jiko
Le Cellier

ps - I should note that I am **not** double-booked at any restaurants - all are different days. But I'd like to cancel soon what we won't use, so it frees up for another family

Keep Ohana! I've never been to any of the others on your list but Ohana is a 'must do' restaurant for me!

I would keep Ohana and Kona. If it was me, I'd get rid of Jiko, but that's mainly because I didn't enjoy anything they served me last year.

We stayed at the GF in Jan/Feb 2010 -- wonderful! On your list, we did the GF Cafe for breakfast, Ohana, and LeCellier.

We loved Ohana and LeCellier, and the kids really enjoyed the parade at Ohana. Our meal at GF Cafe while excellent and obviously convenient and actually peaceful after you have done a lot of character meals is not particularly unique or spectacular. So, if you are looking for a wow factor for kids, I would maybe skip GF Cafe. But, if you are looking for something peaceful and pleasant, keep it.

Good luck with your decision!

I would def keep le cellier and ohana! I always pay oop for signature dining. I get more for my money! Then you could keep 5 and only have to get rid of 1 which I would get rid of the wave just because of the lack of friendly service I have received in the past. Good luck! have fun!

I'd drop

- Jiko (distance, ages of kids, gives you more flexibility with extra TS)
- The Wave (don't really know much about it, but the others "fit" better in your situation, IMO)

We've never eaten at Jiko so I'm not sure about it. But we have eaten at all the rest on your list and I'd cancel Kona and the GF Cafe. We loved Ohana, LeCellier and The Wave.

I would drop Kona and either The Wave or Grand Floridian Cafe.

Whatever you decide, you have all great choices on your list!

My top three choices from your list are actually my top three favorite restaurants in WDW.

Ohana will be fun for the kids. During dinner there is singing, dancing, and games for the kids. We love the food at Ohana and it's nice that's it's served family style.

Kona Cafe has great food, but not great ambiance since it is open to the lobby of the Poly. Although, the Poly lobby is pretty and very Hawaiian feeling, some people tend to dislike the lack of privacy--doesn't bother us a bit. The food makes it a must-do for us.

LeCellier offers great food in a relaxing atmosphere. We love it! Great steaks!

Have you checked out the menus? Here's the link:

I'm not sure if you are aware of the rumors that Le Cellier will require two dining credits next year on the plan. So if you are going this year I would keep it so that you can check it out while it's only 1 TS credit.

I can't speak on behalf of Jiko because I've never dined there, but I know from reading the DIS that is is excellent. I would keep Kona, Ohana, Le Cellier, and The Wave.

I would drop Kona and GF Cafe. They are sort of your typical hotel cafe's, nothing special and the service at Kona the last time we were there was really bad.

I would drop Kona and probably the wave, and keep the cafe at the Grand Floridian, only for convenience sake, and not having to leave the hotel with the kids.

Kona
The Wave
Ohana
Grand Floridian Cafe
Jiko
Le Cellier

I would for sure keep 'Ohana. I'd probably also keep Grand Floridian Cafe, since you're staying there and it makes for an "easy" place for one meal at the end of a long day. Of the remainder, I'd probably go ahead and keep LeCellier just to see what all the hype is about.

OMG KEEP O'Hana!!!! You will LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It's great for kids, great for adults, and a lot of variety.

Have you considered the Whispering Canyon??? We love that too. The Wilderness lodge is beautiful, and the restaurant is so fun, and really interactive.
If you ask for ketchup, the waitress SCREAMS, "SOMEBODY NEEDS KETCHUP!! WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO NOW????" And then anyone, and I mean ANYONE who has ketchup on their table, then brings it over to the table that needs it. The kids love this. And it's really funny to see one table with 12 ketchup bottles on it. :rotfl:
There are other fun things you can do, like, ask for a straw, wear a tshirt from a non-disney park, and a few other things- I just can't remember.
The food is really good too, by the way.

I hope that helps. Whatever you do, keep 'Ohana. ;)

I would rec, and recommend keeping Ohana's, Grand Floridian Cafe, and Le Celleier.

I can't comment on the others because we have not eaten at them but I highly recommend the three I listed!!!

I'd price out the Jiko and Chef Mickey's breakfast.
If we are on the plan and are eating breakfasts, it is usually a better deal to pay cash. At least the way we order and/or that breakfast is the cheapest meal.

For financial value for the sig. kids meals, you are better off paying cash most times than using two credits, imho. At Jiko, they have great appys. You might want to order differently and just pay cash, freeing up "other" meals. Then you can have the best of both worlds!

I had a hard time deciding about Kona too, but if you are going for breakfast, you can get Tonga Toast at Capt Cook's and use a CS instead. I'd keep O'Hana and LeCellier.
