i NEED to get our holiday booked soon, its driving me mad searching the net for a good deal.... i seem to be going round in circles and getting absolutely NOWHERE!!!!!!!!! :headache:

my fussy hubby has said it must be:

flying direct from glasgow
staying at southern dunes villa complex
2 weeks (i'm trying to push for 3!!)

SURELY it
cant be that hard.....:wizard:

Just wanted to say hi as I am originally from Ayr, live in Stirling now though!
What time of year are you hoping to go?
I think only Virgin fly direct from Glasgow and at a premium!!
We have looked at BA, Glasgow - London - Orlando and at US Airways Glasgow -Philly - Orlando.
Hope you get something booked
x

Tie yourself to one route and one resort you will find it a lot harder than being flexible.
Last Oct we wanted MAN~MCO and Courtyard Palm Parkway, total cost for 1 week £3,120, opted for London~MCO and stayed at Fairfield cost us £1,460

Have you tried Thomas Cook?
They fly into Sanford and Southern Dunes is in their brochure.
Might not be as good as VA though - my daughter flew from Glasgow with them last year and flight was ok but seat pitch a bit cramped and only overhead screens. Also extra for food etc., so its best to make sure you compare full costings.

Just wanted to say hello and I would go for 3 weeks if you could with legoland and parts of the new fantasyland opening up it will give you more time to explore.

Happy Planning

it thomas cook we've flown with previously direct form glasgow to sanford (i prefer flying into sanford)
once gone virgin glasgow to MCO...

hubby came home tonight and agreed we really need to get booked asap (so we have longer to pay/save/plan) he said i should just call the TA we've dealt with last few years, give her our list and leave it with her....

think i'll do some "window shopping" see if there are any "deals" advertised :3dglasses

"HI Rach78, september we're looking at again :thumbsup2"

"thanks wayneg, info like that is really helpful to sway my 'set-in-stone' hubby!"

"stitch1979, you are sooooo right, i'm trying to convince hubby by offering him, quiet/low cost days such as chilling at the pool, or the beach, but there is SO much we really still have to do!!"

lookig at dates from 26th aug right thru to end of sept.
best price i have so far is 3425 with thomas cook. almost 800 more than we've paid every other year :headache:

Had a quick look last night, couldn't see any bargains jumping out at me.

aww thanks for checking....
popped into thomas cook today, apparently they arent offering 3week options in september, whats that all about!?!? the best he found for me was 3854 for 3 weeks flying with virgin, GLA - MCO and staying at our preferred villa complex... still seems pretty steep to me so hanging off for a miracle! :worship:
theres a "holiday fayre" on tomorrow nearby, think i'll drag hubby and his wallet along!! ;)

What dates were the Virgin package? have you looked at flights separate. Might save a few £.

Flights would be £2,524.00
Come back a day later 8th-30th and there are Miles and Money available £2,092.00 + 8,000 miles

Wouldn't have a clue with cost of somewhere at Southern Dunes, not somewhere I have ever priced up, seems a long way out so shouldn't be too expensive.

WHATS MILES & MONEY?:confused3

Have you never flown with Virgin? when you take a flight they give you miles https://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/index.jsp
You then use those miles to get a discount on your next flight.
If you pay full price this time 2 adults would gain about 16,000 miles, enough for a family of 4 to do 2 Miles and Money trips.

i have flown with them once before but it was a package thru thomas cook.
thanks for the info tho definately worth a look... :worship:

Even if you flew as a package you could have still claimed your miles. Too late now but anyone that flies with VA however they booked can claim airmiles.

finally :cool1::woohoo:

27th august,
glasgow via gatwick (BA)
southern dunes villa
THREE WEEKS!!!!!

let the planning commence... all over again....
