I need TIPS on first vacation ever to WDW

i was 50 years old the first trip. i am now 60 and have been 14 times. if you have at least 5 full days, you can see a lot. start with mk and see mk on last day also. ride tot at disney studios, at mk splash mountain, thunder mountain railroad. everest at ak, see nemo show at ak and nemo ride. take a few hours to hotel hop by bus . see gf, poly, wilderness lodge, ak lodge. they are unique. have fun.

You've gotten some good advice here. Just do some research before your trip and determine the MUST DO items. Try to fit them in and everything else is gravy.

Just know that this is only your "first" visit -- not your "last" ... so relax and enjoy yourself knowing that you will be back.

That's kinda why these boards exist. There's about a million ways to do this, and no way to do it wrong. Remember that last part: no way to do it wrong.

Agreed! I admit, I'm a compulsive planner, so I've done my share (and then some) of fretting and scheduling. I think I worried that I wouldn't do it the "right" way. But happily, as we get closer to the date of our trip I've realized that I can't really expect to see everything and that it's okay! :) I'm trying to remember that I've done plenty of research to learn what I'd like to do so I'll do those things as best I can.

It's a magical place and -- more importantly -- it's a vacation. :cool1:

Hope you have a great trip!

I totally agree with the posts advising you to prioritize. However, I'm actually a fan of trying to hit everything possible, especially your first couple of trips to WDW. We don't get to go very often so we want to take advantage of the opportunity to experience the magic even if we're totally worn down after vacation.:faint: We relax on vacations at the beach or at home.

Thanks everyone for everything. I am excited :yay: the time is getting closer. I was just so nervous and excited I didnt kow what to do but thanks to you guys I am able to just take a deep breath and know everything will be ok. :grouphug:

Have a wonderful time - the weather is beautiful and the parks are decorated so pretty this time of year. HAVE FUN, BREATH AND RELAX!!! I agree with trying to fit in as much as you can, but then it can be stressful and you might get disappointed. I haven't read the thread in a while so have you made dining reservations?

Hoagie Pie

Well am still deciding on where to go eat? I dont know where to call to make reservations.:confused3

So I only have three weeks left any last minute advice? When I get there on the 11th of Feb. The park that will have the Evening Magic Hours is the Animal Kingdom is it a good choice for the first park to go to?

YEAH! 3-weeks. Animal Kingdom is fantastic and my favorite park out of all! Get your fast pass ticket to the Safari and head to Expedition Everest. It seems the entire park always goes to the Safari first. People will say that the animals are more active during the morning, but I have been on the Safari morning - noon and before the park closes and every experience is amazing! Also, on Rafiki's Planet Watch is a must-do in the morning because they are usually performing a medical procedure on an animal and sometimes surgery and you can watch! My daughter, who is 11, loves this and the vet will talk to you about it. Okay, have I said to much - LOVE the park!

The one thing you never mention is this a family (and how many) or solo?
Arriving 11th ,leaving 15th, this means only 3 full days! So I hope your planning another WDW trip later this year or next because you will only get a small taste this time.
AK open late? this means one extra hour and the posted hours are 9am-5pm so the park will be open untill 6pm. If you do AK you will still be able to hit the sack early, and do the early park hour at MK the next day! (yes I went and looked at the posted times at DIS Home.)
11th AK Evening Extra Magic Hours
12th Mk Morning EMH
13th EC Evening (FW) EMH
14th DHS Morning EMH
15th DTD shopping before going home:sad1:

Lizet313 - Oh I must ask where did you find your MM red glitter ears. I am in love with them. Website?

Have a great vacation- my advice - pick your top four attractions for each park. See if they have Fastpasses and just wing it. Remember to get a map of the park so you dont get terribly lost and you will know what direction to walk.

It's just two ppl me and a friend she is 25yrs old and am 21 yrs old. Thanks for the great advice. What are the must do's at every park?

I will arrive at SSR around 11am I think. My plane lands Feb. 11 @ 9:40am. I know AK has extra magic hrs so I will be heading there for my first park. I am a fast food fan my friend loves to taste new foods. As far as early risers or night owls well we have both. Kind of confusing I know.

I know it's
11th AK Evening Extra Magic Hours
12th Mk Morning EMH
13th EC Evening (FW) EMH
14th DHS Morning EMH
Thanks to WizardLarz.

The 15th is when I leave my plane departs @5:35pm

I think the 15th is to roam around discover SSR and shop around at DTD.

What are the must do's at each park?

Also what about Fireworks and Parades?
