I need some used ipod touch 3rd generation help please

DS got the new ipod touch. We are going to regift his 3rd generation itouch to his younger brother. I'd like to take all DS17 music off the itouch and start new for DS8. I also want to open him his own itunes account to share with DD12 and DD14. DS17 will have his own account.

Does anyone know how I can clear all music off the ipod touch? Can I just open a new itunes account and connect the old ipod to the computer? I am clueless! What do people do when they go to sell an ipod touch? Also, how can I find out if there is some kind of update for the 3rd generation?

The best thing to do is connect it to the current iTunes account that has the music on the iPod, go into the sync menu and deselect all the folders and sync it. That will remove everything off of there.
