Hello
I am a beginning spin instructor (indoor cycling to music).
I need some ideas of songs you like that you think would be motivating.
Songs that make you want to move.
It can be any genre -rock, pop, country, techno, rap.
I teach at a Y so it needs to be pretty clean.
Thanks!!! :)

The 3 that always get me up and moving are Electric Barbarella and Reach Up For the Sunrise by Duran Duran, and Lust For Life by Iggy Pop :)

"don't stop believing:-journey

"stupified" by disturbed. anything really by disturbed. they are an intense metally type band.

"final chapter" not sure of the artist but its a techno song

"Mustang Sally" - Wilson Pickett
"Radar Love" - Golden Earring
"Life in the Fast Lane" - Eagles

"Life is a Highway" by Rascal Flatts
"Hold On Loosely" by .38 Special
"Perfect Day" by Hoku

My favorite song at Spinning: "Rods and Cones" by Blue Man Group

I'm kind of a techno/house music geek, so anything by Scooter would work great too. :)

Flirting with Disaster by Foghat **** Great song, hard to not speed while listening to it!!!

Rockafellar Skank-Fatboy Silm
5,6,7,8-Steps
Do Somethin-Britney Spears
Don't Cha-Pussycat Dolls

You guys are great.
Before I started -I thought the music part would be soo easy- but it is harder than I thought!
Thanks again -keep them coming!! :thumbsup2

Some of the ones we have used in our RPM class are:

Beautiful Day by U2
Clocks by Coldplay
Superman by (I think) 3 Doors Down
Dancing with Myself by Billy Idol
Could You Be Loved by Joe Cocker (warm-up song)

If I think of any more, I'll add them later. Hope this helps!!

Thunder Road, Born to Run - Springsteen
Roll With the Changes - REO Speedwagon
Jessica - Allman Brothers

Remember the Name-Fort Minor
Snakes on a Plane-Cobra Starship
Queen and I-Gym Class Heroes
La Tourta(it's in Spanish)-Shakira

"Perfect Day" - Hoku (?)
"Do Something'" - Britney Spears

( I know these have already been mentioned, but these are great ones! ) :)

Those of you who are saying "Perfect Day" by Hoku...is this a remake of the Lou Reed song (which in turn was remade by Duran Duran)...or is it something new? Just being nosy...

It's new, it was on the "Snow Day" soundtrack

A few more:

I Write Sins...-Panic! At The Disco
These Boots Are Made For Walking-Jessica Simpson(Dukes soundtrack)
SOS-Rihanna
Pon De Replay-Rhianna
L.O.V.E-Ashlee Simpson
La La-Ashlee Simpson
Lady Marlmade-Moulin Rouge soundtrack
Somebody to Love-Jim Carrey(Cable Guy soundtrack) or Jefferson Airplane
Walk the Line soundtrack
Rent soundtrack-the movie

Take the Highway - Marshall Tucker Band
Highway to Hell - AC/DC

Thanks so much- I am probably going to spend more on music than I make teaching

Rise Up by The Parachute Club
Rio by Duran Duran
Ain't Goin' Down 'til the Sun Comes Up by Garth Brooks
Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson

I sometimes staff for Tony Robbin's at his live events around the country. Most of his music is super high energy to keep people up & enthused. Here is a list of the music:

I compiled my own list from it for my Peak Performance Tape that I listen to while on the elliptical machine. I've found the beat is exactly perfect for my workouts.
Also, you might check out those Time/Life CD music compliations for music of the genres you want. I downloaded many Disco songs off of those CDs. :cool1:
