It's been a tough week for me. Yesterday I had to put my 17 y.o. cat Cougar to sleep. She had a huge osteosarcoma on the side of her face that was inoperable. She actually lasted a lot longer than anyone, especially her vet, ever expected her to, but it was finally her time to go. If there's a kitty heaven, I'm sure she's there now. :cat:  So she's certainly in a much better place, but I really miss her! :sad1:

The result of this is that I have not wanted to move, but I have wanted to eat everything in sight! UGH! Not good! I finally got out and went walking with DH for a while tonight, but I think I need a little push from my WISH friends to really get me back on track. I know that going back to my own ways won't bring her back and I really do not want to sabotage the progress I have made so far.

Oh, did I mention that I'm also starting to feel a little overwhelmed by our upcomng move? We close on our new house on Sept 1 and that means I have to start getting everything ready to go. I really hate moving! Even when it is something I'm really looking forward to. This move seems like the move that has lasted forever since we moved here to FL in May of 04 from CT but have been in a temporary home since then. I will be so glad when we finally get settled in!

I could really use some WISH cheerleaders to help me get moving again. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Nancy I'm so sorry that you had to put your fur baby to sleep! :sad1:

I've had a difficult week myself and spent a lot of hours sitting in the hospital reflecting on my journey! I have always reacted to stress by stuffing me face. However this time I made a definite decision that no matter how bad things got eating junk food or overeating was not going to make things better, in fact in the long run it would make them worse!

You can do this, I know that you can, because you're already doing it! ::yes:: Just take one step at a time and you will have got through the day!

Here' some PD :wizard: ***** to help you with your move. I'm sure that everything will go smoothly and you will be all settled into your new home!

I hope that you have a better day today! :goodvibes

Nancy -- I am so sorry you lost one of your best friends. I hope that in time your memories of your furbaby will bring only joy and that the sadness will pass.

You have done so great on your journey to being fit. I know it is really hard to stay on track when your physical surroundings are in upheaval and your emotions are overwhelming. But I hope you will take pride in what you have accomplished and draw confidence in your ability to succeed from what you have already done.

Don't worry, kiddo, the move will be over soon and you will be able to focus on getting settled in your new home and knowing you won't have to go anywhere anytime soon.

Good luck! Sending you a  and :wizard: !

Nancy! You CAN do this. Stay strong.

I am so proud of you that you know where to come for the help you know you need. PD :wizard: and {{{huge hugs}}} to you   I know how difficult it is with the loss of your cat. Coupled with the ongoing stress of the perpetual move it is truly a big challeng.

You have certainly traveled so far. Please don't give in. You can do it. You are doing it!

I'm sorry to hear about your precious kitty. It is so hard when we lose a part of our family.

You have done so good, you know that you don't want to go back to old habits. Let me speak from experience, you will not wind up being happy with the results!! Stay strong and remember that you are loved by so many on this board!!!

Just remember that once this move is complete you will be done with that chapter and you'll have some great pictures to share.

Chin up and walk talk and have the confidence you need to stay on track.

Hi Nancy :grouphug:

I'm so sorry for your loss. My Mom had to put her 13yo dog to sleep last week. It was so difficult, but just as you said, she isn't in pain anymore.

Here is :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for your move and your mood. I hope you are feeling optimistic and happy again real soon.

Take care of yourself. We are here for you :) :grouphug:

Thanks for the support. I knew I'd get what I needed here.

Turns out I almost needed even more support yesterday. We took our 2 little kitties :cat: :cat: to the vet for their 1st ever annual checkup/shots and ended up nearly losing our little girl - literally! We had a major cat carrier latch malfunction and she got out! It took us 4 hrs of walking all over the area around the vet's office before I finally found her hiding in some very dense underbrush and was able to coax her out. The only good things that came out of this was that it got me moving and I was too upset to eat! :earseek: Good news for someone who usually tries to eat away pain! At this point, all's well with the kitties, our boy was even more upset than his sister was by her disappearance, but he's happy now that they are both safe at home. I feel like I'm getting back on track again, too.

We close on the house on Thurs. I can hardly believe it's finally happening. I'll be so relieved when the move is all done, everything is in the new house and in it's proper place. I'm tired of living out of boxes, and now the things I did unpack have to go back into boxes for a while. I think once the move is done, or at least mostly done, it's back onto Atkins for me! Maybe getting rid of a few more lbs will help my walking times, which at this point would not beat the sweeper.
