I need some suggestions and ideas for a piece of jewelry.

I want a ring. All my jewelry was bought by my h and I really feel weird wearing it, so I don't very often. I want something new, and I want it to mean something, but I just don't know what.
I'm almost starting my life over and just turned 40.
Does anyone have any ideas on some kind of design I could get or get made?

LOL, thanks Katholyn, but that would be a little much for me. When he didn't know what to get, he would get jewelry. He had connections with a jewelry designer and a jewelry store.

Take the really nice pieces to a jewelry designer and let them assist you through the process. With another gem here and there, you will be surprised at how imaginative the new piece can become.
That way, you will be using the gems from the old jewelry that should be used to create something new. Getting a creative designer is the main work. Ask around. The designer I use doesn't blink an eye when I state a price range--and I have one of a kind jewelry that never fails to illicite compliments.

We did that. We took my engagement and wedding rings, as well as my eternity band and had them completely redone into one ring. I love it.

I agree with the others. I took a few small pieces of gold and had them melted down and made into a ring that i designed and all i had to add was a stone and that was pretty inexpensive. I absolutely love my ring, one of the best pieces I own!!!

I'm not much of a jewelry person but decided I wanted a nice piece. My girls birthstones are sapphire & pearls so I looked around for a ring with both stones. Didn't find much locally but found 2 really nice rings on ebay and ended up buying both. I still don't wear them as they need sized but they are great for what I wanted.
