I installed photoshop elements 5 over the weekend. I mean't to install it in my extra hard drive because I was low on my main hard drive. So I did some things with it and now my computer is so bogged down because I am out of space. I need to move the program into my other hard drive. Is there a way to do this without losing what I've done. If I have to start over that's fine but I need to do something ASAP. I tried to just move it but all it did was copy it into the other drive and I can't delete it from the wrong drive.
Help! Please!

The only thing I can think of is:

1) save any documents created into My Documents folder.

2) delete program from the Control Panel - Add / Remove Programs

3) reinstall program onto your secondary hard drive.

you should be able to uninstall elements without losing your pictures. The pictures will probably be stored somewhere else on your computer (probably in My Documents). Erasing Elements will just erase the program itself.

If you want to be certain, figure out where Elements is storing your pictures. Right click on the folder where your pictures are stored and select copy. Then navigate to your second hard drive and pick a folder where you want to put them (or make a new folder), right click and select paste. Now you have a backup copy and you don't have to worry about what happens to the original pictures when you uninstall elements. Eventually you can go back and erase the old pictures, so you don't have to take up precious hard drive space.

Well, the more I thought about it the more I think it would be best to just reinstall and start over if necessary. By being low on disk space made me look at all my stuff and I just have crap all over the place! especially my pictures. I've been regrouping and refoldering them all so now all the locations are changed so PSE may not be able to find them.
Probably for the best this happened as it finally got my butt in gear to clean things up.

Just for a point of reference in the future, I don't know of any software that you can just move. They all need to actually be installed or re-installed. A lot of software installs make changes to files on your computer that they will need to run and if you move it, it's no longer pointing to the same location.
