Okay, we are all set for our Custom VR.

December 28, 9am,
Ceremony in UK Garden in Epcot,
Reception/Mad Hatter's Tea Party on the Croquet Lawn at the Boardwalk.

Here are my many questions:

- I'm wearing pink, would it be too weird to give the other attendant's each their own color - like one green, one blue, etc. Also, the colors would all be pastels - not brights.

- Mad Hatter Cake - does anyone have a photo of one with multi-colored pastels? Most of the ones I see are bright colors.

- Invites, does anyone have a fun idea for an Alice/Mad Hatter invite?

- Should I ask everyone to wear a hat? No one I know wears hats. Funny hats? Should I provide funny hats for the party?

- Favors? Any ideas for favors?

- Welcome bags - same idea, any ideas for theming it to alice/wonderland/mad hatter?

- Characters - who else has had Alice? Rabbit? Mad Hatter? Are those the only three from that group that are available?

Any other ideas at all would be so welcome and thanks in advance!!!!

Susy,

How exciting! You are using the same venue we did! If you have any questions, let me know!!! We had our attendants in pastels as well. If you check out my trip report...still working on it....in the link below you can see the pictures of the venues and the colors we used. I have seen a pastel mad hatter cake and it was beautiful, I can't remember who had it though...trust me it looked GREAT! I also saw people who did the hat for mad hatter too and it turned out to be a hit with guests. She brought her own, instead of having the guests bring them. Not sure about invites....don't have any great ideas on that yet. There is a website you can try and get in touch with the girls...they are bucklepress.com I think. My friend used them and her invites are INCREDIBLE. For favors, ask your floral manager what they have. I am sure they can come up with something incredible! You could also do tea from the shop in England and do single serve teapot/teacup. I hope that this helps!!!!! I am so excited for you and I can't wait to see what happens. Again, ask me anything about the venue, I would be happy to share my experience with it.

Your wedding sounds so cute! I agree that teacups would be an adorable favor! Maybe you could fill them with candy, and a note that says "eat me" or "drink me" for the tea.

That sounds like such a cute idea!!

Prehaps you could use Alice themed things for the favours - like the cookies that say eat me etc

Hi Susy,
How about using for your wedding invite something like the white Rabbits clock, telling people all the details and not to be late for your very important date!!
Or how about a set of playing cards custom made for your welcome bag some English tea, a minature pot of jam (to make some jam tarts of course)
You can get in the uk Minature rose bushes they are sweet you could use them for table decorations or something like that and if you got the cream ones you could put a little pot with brushes and red paint for your guests (painting the roses red) sorry Im getting a bit carried away!!!
Have fun whatever you decide to do

Hi Susy!
Your plans sound just wonderful! I think all the different colors would be beautiful. You could always use those same colors on the cake and in the floral. They can do the mad hatter cakes in all different colors, there is a thread for mad hatter cakes if you search for it. I think the character's from Alice in Wonderland are Alice, White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, and Queen of Hearts. Tea cups or personalized playing cards would make great favors. You could have playing card invitations.

Thanks for to everyone who offered suggestions, I love them all!

Jonette, thanks for the link to your pics and TR - awesome! I loved seeing the gardens, DFTW site doesn't have pictures of it.

I love all the ideas for teapots, eat me cookies, tea, personalized playing cards, painting the roses red - now I just have to figure them all out!

Has anybody seen a place that has bridesmaids/flower girl dresses in lots of lovely pastel colors?

I'm thinking of a bouquet sort of like the one on the first page if the disney weddings website.

Has anyone had their event on the BW croquet lawn? We are staying at the GF so I sort of wish there was a lawn somewhere there to use, but outdoors does seem more "fun" for a tea party??

Please, keep the suggestions coming, and thanks so much!

Susy

I think it would look good to have ea. of your attendants wear their own color...it would keep with the mad hatter theme! Pastels would work just as well as bright colors in my opinion. As a favor you could give ea. of your guest a funny hat! For another favor idea you could fill tea cups with candy. Good luck!

We got our flower girl and jr bridesmaid dresses from David's Bridal. If you catch them at the end of season sale, they are really not that expensive. I had nothing but positive experiences with David's Bridal. My bridesmaids dresses were Alfred Angelo.
