I need some help please

I have a two bedroom at AKV for 9 nights in November. I also have a studio for the same dates in the same resort. If I drop the studio do I get my points back? or are they put on some kind of hold? I've been reading on the owners site and can't find the answer. I hate to call MS every time I have a question and I know some of you know this stuff inside and out

We started out as a group of 7 and are now down to 4 is the reason by the way

You will get your points back and they will not be in "holding" if you cancel 31 days or more before check-in. If you are 4 months or more from your banking window (don't know what your use year is), be sure when you call that the points for the studio are not banked or borrowed points. If they are, ask to swap the points for current use year points on the 2 bedroom. Then you can bank the points if you won't be using them before the end of your use year.

Use year is June so I should be fine. When I booked the rooms last December some of the points were barrowed but I just assumed when I got my points last month they weren't barrowed any more? and should still have about 150 for 2009 plus what I get back from the studio.

Points are borrowed based on the date you're making the reservation. They're borrowed if needed for the dates of your trip. They can't be borrowed and then not borrowed, so you might want to go on the DVC member site and look at your account and see what points you have remaining in each year, just to verify what you have before you change anything?

Do you mean that when you made the reservation, you used the points from your June 09 UY to book part of the trip? Since your travel is in your June 09 UY (June 1st, 2009 - May 31st, 2010), those points are considered current UY points and will still be in your account.

The only time you need to "borrow" points for a reservation is if you won't have any current year or banked points available at the time you travel. It doesn't go based on when you book.
