We are going to be at WDW this coming Friday through the next Saturday. We have the free dining plan and will use a few of our credits for breakfast but the majority of the mornings we will eat on the go.

I need you guys to lend me some advice on some great breakfast ideas for when we are there. We won't have a fridge but we will have an ice cooler that dh will re-fill daily. Any advice? We just don't want to do poptarts everyday but we need something quick and easy!

go to your hotel's gift store - you can use your snack credits there and get donuts and poptarts. At least we could last September. Also, we would use 1 counter service credit on a large meal at the hotel food court and split it since we didn't need much in the morning! There is a lot of food on the dining plan and you will have plenty of credits to be able to swing breakfast! You can split sooo many of the cs meals.

get a cinnamon bun from the main street bakery and use one of your snack credits

There's a great thread on the Dining Plan Forum that lists the confirmed snacks that are available on the dining plan. You can get cereal and milk, yogurt parfaits, bagel w/cream cheese, etc. check it for your resort or the park you'll be visiting in the morning. The list gets updated regularly.

2009 Confirmed Snacks

1 snack credit you can get a rather large, fresh bagel and either cream cheese or butter.

OR if you use a CS, get the bounty platter that is offered it has eggs, and a myriad of other items, easily two can share....
remember, cs comes with 2 drinks for breakfast, like a water or juice AND a coffee or tea (OH, and don't forget its the LARGE ones, not the small, so grab a water even if you don't want it now, then later in the parks you'll have it, thrown in a crystal lite and a nice calorie free but tasty drink!
Personally, we use cs for lunch and ts for dinner, sometimes a snack for breakfast or mostly out of pocket.........CS can also get a danish, toast, there are a number of choices actually.
Have a great trip!!!

How about plain old cereal? Since you have a cooler you could bring Parmalat milk (the shelf stable kind in a box) and put it in the cooler overnight so it would be cool in the morning. Since you are in Alabama I imagine you'll be driving so bringing liquids shouldn't be a problem. Bring along some bananas, oranges or apples.

Pack some cereal and/or breakfast bars to carry with you. Those are great for mornings on the go!

We always do breakfast in the room. I try to take a variety of things that might be good together and then let everyone put together their own meal. My list usually includes:

flavored cream cheeses (strawberry, blueberry, honey nut, etc) and bagels, English muffins, pita bread or raisin bread

goodies from the grocery store bakery - donuts, danishes, croissants

fresh fruit (in a pinch I'll grab one of the ready-made trays at the grocery store) and cheese

instant grits and cereal bars

My kids also like peanut butter toast - just take the bread to the foodcourt to toast it and smear it with peanut butter instead of butter; seems to be more filling than regular toast. You might also try some of the small cups of yogurt and maybe some granola-type cereal to sprinkle on it.

We've brought packages of oatmeal in the past. You can heat water in the coffee maker (if you have one in the room) or you can get hot water at the food courts. Also, breakfast bars or protein bars are great for a quick, sort-of healthy breakfast!

Best thing we've found over the years for "breakfast on the go" at WDW:
Tortillas, Peanut Butter, Jelly...
We will make PB&J wraps before leaving the resort and keep them in foil. It's very inexpensive and the gives you some much needed protein for that long day ahead!

We usu. take them to the parks even if we eat breakfast for a mid-morning snack.

HTH

We've brought a tupperware full of oatcakes, and fruit cups. That, along with milk that we keep in our cooler makes a really filling breakfast. I got the recipe online, and they are very dense and full of fiber. We are not hungry until lunch when we eat them.
