I need some dining ideas

Hi, everyone! I am planning a trip in October with my mom and 2 Ds's ages 5 and almost 2. This is the first time in a long time that we will be staying on the WDW property for our entire trip. I need some suggestions on dining. We will be staying at POR and will be eating breakfast almost every day at the resort food court. What I need is hints on where to have the other 2 meals of the day. We do counter service and I'm thinking of some character dining too. My mom is pretty picky, but the boys and I will eat just about anything at WDW.

We always enjoy a great hot dog and fries at Casey's in MK for lunch,Dinner at MK we like Crystal Palace or LTT.At MGM we love Mama Melrose's for lunch and 50's Prime Time Cafe for dinner.At Epcot we love the fish and chips you get at England for dinner we love LeCellier for a great steak.At AK we love Flame Tree BBQ for lunch thay have a nice quiet dining area around back down by the water have never had dinner at AK.At DTD we like going over to west side area and dining at House Of Blues love the voodoo shrimp and Cajun meatloaf.Have a great trip I'm sure you will have some great meals.

For a character meal you have to do Chef Mickeys. This is a classic, your kids will love it! DM should also like it because there is a large selection of food, as are all WDW buffets. Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Faire, Cape May Buffet, LTT, all also have nice character meals, but for a fun atmosphere with the characters, you can not beat Chef Mickeys.
'Ohana is a great place for families. It is all you can eat and there is entertainment and kid's activities. Very fun place. Very good food also. We just love their peanut dipping sauce--yummmm!
HDDR is another great place for families. It is a little pricey but includes a fantastic show, that your 5 yo will love, another WDW classic.
Some of our favorite park counter service places are: Flame Tree at AK--unbelievably good ribs; Columbia Harbor House in MK, the bakery in France for a fruit & cheese plate or croissant; Morocco, Germany & Norway's take outs for the sandwiches.
Some favorite sit downs are: 50's Prime Time --fun, fun place; Mama Melrose--good food, nice cozy atmosphere; Kona Cafe--very good food especially breakfasts; Big River Grille--love their meatloaf--fantastic, sit outside for a very nice atmosphere.
We also really love: Flying Fish, Cal Grill, Brown Derby, Artist Point, Yachtsman Steakhouse and Jiko, but these restaurants are more geared to adults. Although children are more than welcome in any WDW restaurant, some have more things/atmosphere, etc that appeals to little ones, then others do.
Have fun eating your way around the world of Mickey! It is one of our favorites parts of a WDW trip, LOL!

Dittos to this. They are not always 100% up-to-date, but they are very close. This can be helpful when trying to decide where to eat.

From one picky eater to another, I think I can help you here.

As far as breakfast, if you all are pretty light eaters, I would recommend something quick in the room, like Pop Tarts, cereal, breakfast bars, etc. If you are renting a car, you can pick some stuff up on the way to your hotel. If you're not renting, then I would recommend bringing these items with you (not the milk of course). This will save quite a bit of $$. We did this in 2001 when we took my nephews, since they are all pretty light eaters at breakfast and it made it easier for them to eat when they want, while the others got dressed.

We also did one meal either in the room or in the foodcourt, which worked out well. We had a rental car, so we picked up cereal, pb&j, bread, milk, water, etc. This helped alot.

Magic Kingdom:
1. Crystal Palace (buffet & characters -- Wonderful selection of food)
2. Cindy's Table
3. Liberty Tree Tavern (character dinner)
4. Casey's (counter service -- hot dogs & fries)

EPCOT:
1. Le Cellier in Canada
2. Rose & Crown in UK
3. Garden Grill (family style & characters)

MGM:
1. 50's Primetime Cafe (great selection)

Animal Kingdom:
1. Tusker House

Resorts:
1. O'Hana's
2. Whispering Canyon Cafe
3. California Grill
4. Beaches & Cream
5. Spoodle's
6. Yachtsman Steakhouse

A great place to go (which I do before every trip) is to www.wdwig.com and go through the menu's. It's a complete listing of every place to dine on property and it allows you to look to see what they offer before you get there. This way your mom can check these places out and make sure there is something there she'll eat.

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions. So far, I've decided to go to LTT for dinner on the night we go to MNSSHP, and to CP for a character breakfast (our younger DS did not get to see his beloved Pooh Bear last trip, so this is a must). Beyond that, I think we'll hit mostly counter service places.
