I need some advice- thanksgiving and husband problem

Maybe I should bring someone. lol

If you are not actually seeing someone, who you feel comfortable spending holidays with around your children, then I wouldn't just bring someone to one-up my ex. I think the children are obviously the main focus of this holiday season. They have probably been through quite a lot already with the behavior of your ex and the way he has treated both you and your children. They may be children, but they are not stupid. They know you have been hurting in the past few months. The children and any other family at this Thanksgiving get together would see right through your attempt to bring some random guy, and would no doubt pity you even more. The object here is not to gain their pity, but to prove you are a stronger women because of everything which has happened, and you will be rising above the level that your husband set. In this way you can provide a positive image for your children to look up to. Goodness knows they will need it after the behavior of your ex!

I was just kidding. I don't know anyone that I could take. lol Sorry, I didn't mean it.

Seriously, I wouldn't do that. I'm sorry I tried to interject a little humor. I know this is a serious subject.

I didn't think you were serious Serena -- but you know sometimes it's just hard to convey that you're joking around on a message board. :)

Don't worry about it, a sense of humor can go a long way with helping to get through a rough spot.

Serena, you deserve to have some humor in your life. I think it was clear that you were joking. :D

Only you know what is best for you and your kids. Good luck with your decision. It's definitely not an easy situation.
