I need so much info-wdw wedding planning---HELP!!!!

Please forgive my ignorance but what long weekend falls in Oct for Americans? (I'm Canadian and here it is Thanksgiving). Is it always on the same day or does it flucuate? Anyone know when the long weekend will be in Oct 2004?

I am in the midst of planning my wedding at the Swan Resort for Oct of 2004! I need to pick a date and need info on crowds ect for Oct...anytime I should particularily avoid??

We have been to WDW in Oct 2000-I don't remember it being busy but it could have been we just hit the right park on the right days!

We will have people with us who have never been before so of course we want them to have the best possible expereince!

For MNSSHP do they have the rides open in MK? Or is only the halloween things going on? It sounds fun-would like to do this! Does it usually run throughout the month? Or just near halloween?

Can you bring your own beverages on the course at fantasia gardens? For the life of me I can't remember and we were just there in November!! We had DC passes and didn't have to pay--but will need to next time. I want to treat everyone who comes to the wedding to a round of minigolf-I think it would be fun to go as a group. Do they have a group rate ? What do they charge per round of minigolf?

Will offsite pizza places deliver to the resorts? I also wanted to do a Pizza and Beer by the pool night for everyone but DH doesn't care for the resort pizza (shhhh-don't tell him I told you!). We could drive to pick it up as well-anyplace near by that is really good?

Also if any one has any groovey disney wedding ideas I would LOVE to hear them!

It is Columbus Day, and it always falls on the second Monday in October.

We were there in October 2000 as well (for a week including the holiday weekend.) Like you, we didn't find the crowds bad at all, and the weather was lovely!

I also had a Disney wedding in November of 2001. One great thing about that time is the food and wine festival - it was great!

Sorry, I can't answer any of your other questions, but I am sure someone will be able to!


PS- there is also a Disney weddings and honeymoons board on the DIS!

Does anyone find that this holiday is more busy than say Thanksgiving?? Do the crowds drop off right after the long weekend??

I have been visiting the dis wedding board as well! I have also found a disneymooners message board! But you can never have enough info and ideas!!

i don't think columbus day weekend is as busy as thanksgiving.

lil mermaid, what was your date? we got married at wdw in nov 2001 too -- 11/10. (and my dh is from walnut creek, LOL)
