I am planning on taking my mom down to WDW in September for our birthdays. I am hoping to be on the Dining Plan. There are some restaurants that we have never tried and was wondering if you all could give me your 2 cents worth?

Hollywood & Vine
Mama Melroses
Coral Reef
Chefs de France
Alfredo in Italy

Yays or Nays? Good or Bad?

Thanks :wave2:

We had a great dinner at Mama Melrose. It fit for our family as we arent into sci-fi or 50's. I had the Oven Baked Caprino Cheese and the Veal Osso Buco. I could have liked the caprino cheese bowl clean. The veal was great, tender. Dh had the mozz and tomatoes (good and he now makes this at home) and the salmon. The salmon was okay but he finished my veal after his fish and loved that. DD had the cheese pasta and chocolate Gelato. I had the Warm Chocolate Truffle Cake which was very good. I love anything involving raspberries! We would go back any time and we had a great meal and good service.

Mama Melrose is one of our favorite WDW restaurants. We have dined there many times now and love it.

I had eaten at Alfredo twice, many years ago (86 & 95) and enjoyed it. My mom and I went back in December and we still thought it was great

We always enjoy the Coral Reef. It's always a pleasant meal after a hectic day.

Just remember its subjective opinions!! Check www.allearsnet.com for menus, and see how they are with your food tastes.

You could use the search function here at the top of the forum and search for any of your restaurants, for Hollywood and Vine - you will get as many pros as cons!! For us, my mom LOVES buffets, she is a buffet queen!! She loved H&V - loved it, she would NOT have enjoyed Mama Melrose, no matter what, she would've eaten there, but to compare her likes and dislikes - for her its about the food!! :rotfl: Knowing this I booked H&V - and we loved it - the CM we got was fantastic, sitting down at our table conversing with DD - magical!! Others, not so much!! :rotfl:

Hollywood & Vine - never been

Mama Melroses- Yay! this is a good place and fun.

Coral Reef- been a long time ago - was good but haven't made effort to return with so many other choices

Chefs de France - went once long ago- wasn't impressed.

Alfredo in Italy- went in January - this is really good and ambiance is gorgeous. Better Italian off site at local restaurants though.

My DS and I have eaten at Coral Reef and Hollywood and Vine and enjoyed both. The first time we ate at Coral Reef, which has a viewable underwater diving tank, there was a guy diving and the waiter brought us a slate so we could send messages to him, it was really neat. The food was good but a might pricey for lunch. Hollywood and Vine is now one of our favorites - we love Prime Time but when we went to H&V there was something about the selection of food and everything that now makes dinner a major decision. However, the best decision for you is to look at the menus listed on allearsnet.com to see what foods sound best to you and your family.
