I need reassurance

Dbf and I are taking a Disney trip. 8/25-8/31. Flights were already booked when free dining came out. Our original quote for sports/ddp/tickets was 1701. With FD and adding a preferred room at sports, it went to 1444. Great price. Well, I did some pricing and figured out we could upgrade to POR or CBR ( i like the looks of CBR) for only 200.00 more. Because of the FD promotion, we are able to do this and stay in our budget. Am I crazy for wanting to do this, or should I just stay at an allstar? I think this "may" be my engagement trip, and I like the romance of the Mods. I just don't want to regret my decsion. I am afraid my TA will hate us. Yikes. Help!

I think that free dining is the perfect opportunity to upgrade from value to mod, that's why we did CBR last year. . And, if you did it, you'd still be under your original amount. I say, go for it! That being said, we had our honeymoon at All Star Sports. Couldn't have been more romantic (but I think it had to do with my company...)

If you can I would def. upgrade to the POR-FQ. Me and my DW celebrated our engagement there and loved it. I loved that it was a smaller resort and very quiet... it also has a a lot of nice walking path. My 2 cents...

We did the same thing back in 2010 - started out at Pop and ended up staying at CBR for about $200 more.

We LOVED CBR - loved the whole resort, the small pools by each village, the big pool, Port Royale food, loved the buses, loved sitting in a hammock at the end of the night catching glimpses of the Epcot fireworks, loved having a covered area to wait for the buses out of the heat of the day, and on and on. I felt it was money well spent, and basically between now and the time you leave in August, if you set aside $9 per week, it's all paid for.

We used to stay value but started staying at mods a few trips back and we love it! Have stayed at POR and POFQ and they are both fabulous. Definitely worth the extra $200. Go for it!

We stayed at CBR last April and there were 8 of us, and to be honest, I didn't get to do as much exploring as I wanted to as I was too busy in the parks with my grandchildren I have to say, it was beautiful...change your mind and stay there especially if you think this may be a "special" time Let us know what happens please.

We too only had stayed at values in the past until our last trip. A discount came out that allowed us to upgrade from POP to POFQ and still be under our original price before discount. I am so glad we upgraded. Best.decision.ever. You will be so happy and it will be well worth the $200.

As far as the TA goes, I wouldn't hesitate a bit. That's what he/she is getting paid for. It's your vacation after all.

Plus I didn't see you mention that the regular DDP would come with CBR, whereas it's only the QS plan for Pop. So not only will you be within your budget, you'll get a TS meal per day so you can go out for some nice meals. Extra romantic LOL.
