our DS 3 has FINALLY started using the potty ...he is doing really well. i am concerned for our trip at the end of this month. to my knowledge there are no kid sized potties in WDW ??? any ideas ??? we've brought up the idea of using the big potty but he isnt having it. i dont want him to regress. please help:worship: :worship: :worship:

Will he use a big potty with a potty ring on it? I have a folding potty seat that folds small and into a bag (like a zip loc food storage bag size). I put this on the potty and then my little one feels safer. Also my two yr old decided to train herself two weeks before we left for Disney. We did pull ups during the day while we were there. When we were just hanging out by the hotel we didn't but at the parks we did. She was fine with it and no regression. She still asked to go and went and for the most part kept them dry but it allowed us to not worry about her flooding a ride. You could also do underwear with a pull up over it if he is resitant to pull ups alone.
HTH

My dd did the same thing- potty trained herself 2 weeks before the trip. She also refused to go on any seat that wasn't kid sized, but we potty trained her on a kids potty seat attached to the big potty, so the big potty was no big deal. We got the fold up potty seat at Walmart and carried it around the airport and parks in the baggy it came with. It worked great. She was wearing pull ups because I expected an accident, but she did not have an accident all week at WDW. We did have some mad rushes to find a potty though.

Do you think you could get him use to using the big potty with one of those seat toppers that go ontop of the regular sized toilet seat before your trip? These are nice because they make the seat smaller, they come in cute designs and it's fairly portable...would fit under a stroller to take along. As far as I know there are only lower sinks in the bathrooms but not child sized ones.

We did a Disney trip when my son was 3 & we brought a cheap ring insert to use in the room. It was about 10 bucks or so in a baby store & it fit into the largest size Ziploc (or is it hefty? ) I'm thinking 3 gallon size, just stuck it in with the luggage.

One tip, most of the toilets have that auto sensor flush, which can be scary loud to little ones. Bring a pad of post-it notes to cover the eye/sensor so it does not auto-flush until your little one is ready.

My son was not announcing that he had to pee, until we got to WDW & then all at once he started telling me beforehand "I gotta pee!" & then it was a mad dash to the bathroom & praying that there was no line. All at once, while on vacation, he sorted it all out & never looked back. I can only figure it was seeing all of the other kids & what they were doing. I was just happy. You might try explaining that all of the other children, that are there on vacation with their parents, will be using the big potty, it might work. You can always bring a pack of pull-ups as back up, just in case. Good luck.

ok now when we say fold up how small are we talking ?? i have a ring for the potty at home & plan on moving him to it this week. BUT i dont wanna drag a big ring around WDW. he's wearing underwear in the house & pull ups when we got out & at bedtime.

i just cant believe that WDW doesnt have kid sized pottys that is insane to me. :headache:

now that is ingenious !!!! :worship:

You can get the fold up potty seats at babies r us for around ten bucks. The one we have for DD fits in a backpack or large purse easily.

I wish you luck. My DD had just been fully trained for 3 months when we made our trip to disney in August. She was great at home, school and grandma house but was completely scared of the "Public" bathrooms because of the automatic flushing. after the 2nd day, I had to revert back to pull ups. I hated to do it but after 2 days of being peed on 3x, her peeing in line while waiting for rides, and anyone in the bathrooms hearing her scream bloody murder. I had to give up. :(
I did have the potty seats that fold up and the disposable one that fit on the potty but she would not have it.
Basically my advise so you don't have to go through what I did, BLOCK the automatic flusher!!
My DD is still scared of "Public Potty" but who can actually blame her.

Target has them. I think Toys R Us sometimes has them in their baby section too.

My DS, also a Braeden :) , is recently trained. He is doing really well with peeing in public washrooms but has not done a BM yet. He is too short to stand on the floor so we lift him over the toilet so he is "standing up" to pee. He refuses to sit on the toilet because he is afraid he will fall in. We haven't had any issues yet with BM, although he may be withholding till we get home.

My SIL gave me a few disposable toilet seat covers which fit in the diaper bag, so if he really needs to go I hope he will give them a try. We do still put a pullup on him when we are out, just in case, but he really doesn't really need them.

i looked at target to no avail..ALTHOUGH while we were there he did use the big potty !!!! maybe after a few weeks we'll be ready, but i'm still gonna keep looking for the fold up potty seat !!! thanks for all the great advice !!!:dance3:

I know this is a little off topic but I was wondering if I should bring pull ups for my DS4. He is fully potty trained and we would only use them at night. He has a problem waking up when he has to go if he is really tired and doesn't get to bed at his normal time. What do you think?

We went in May with our almost 3 yr old twins and I bought a great folding seat from One Step Ahead. It folds really small, but is padded and comfy and didn't pinch my girls when they sat on it. It also has a nice carry bag and fit easily inside the bag we brought to the parks. I can'y post the link yet b/c I'm a newbie, but if you go to OneStepAhead.com search for the Cushie Traveler and you should find it (it's 12.95).

I have to say, I brought my son while he was still potty training and he actually impressed me. He did better with it while we were away then he was doing at home. He made to tell me he had to go, and didn't have one accident the whole trip, including the three hour flight there and back.
