We will be going to Orlando for a convention in Nov. Prior to the convention myself and a coworker will be sending a few days in Disney. I have been many times but this will be her first. We fly in on Saturday and have thru Tuesday to enjoy Disney. Below i have listed three options on park choices. I need your opinions for the best choice for a first time visitor.

Option 1
Saturday - Magic Kingdom from 4pm until 12pm
Sunday - Hollywood Studios all day, which doesn't close until 10:30pm
Monday - Epcot all day, which doesn't close until 9pm
Tuesday - Magic Kingdom for the Christmas Party

Option 2
Saturday - hang out at the hotel
Sunday - Epcot all day, which closes at 9pm
Monday - Magic Kingdom all day, which closes at 9pm
Tuesday - Magic Kingdom for the Christmas Party

Option 3
Saturday - Hollywood Studios from 4pm until 8:30pm
Sunday - Epcot all day, which closes at 9pm
Monday - Magic Kingdom all day, which closes at 9pm
Tuesday - Magic Kingdom for the Christmas Party

Thank you for any opinions, suggestions, or advise you might have!

I like option 3! We don't put any decision on crowd calendars. For us they are a waste. We've gone during both busy and slow times, and have never not gotten something done. I say, just do what's best for you, and the plan that is most appealing.

Depending on which hotel you're at, I would either hanging out there before heading to HS, or do a half day at AK and then head to HS. For us, HS isn't an all day park, which is why I didn't select 1. I also like the idea of more time at MK than option 1 allows.

Have a great trip!

We are staying at Port Orleans and will be arriving on Sat around 2pm. I didn't choose Animal Kingdom because of lack of time. If we had more time i would love to visit there again.

I hadn't initially planned to go to Hollywood Studios but i really want to see the christmas lights. If we go to Hollywood Studios on Saturday that gives us 4 1/2 hours in the park. If we go to Magic Kingdom that gives up 8 1/2 hours. But i know that Hollywood Studios is not an all day park. We will not have a park hopper option.

Option 3. This gives you enough time in each of these parks to enjoy the rides and holiday stuff. I also like that your first day ends early. Traveling all day is tiring and with HS closing at 8:30 you can go back to your hotel and relax for the evening. Go to the lounge for a drink and some good entertainment. If you're really still wired you can even hop the boat from your hotel to Disney Springs.

Right off - I think it should be a law that anyone who hasn't ever been to WDW needs to go to MK first.

Assumption #1 is you will not be park-hopping.
Assumption #2 is you will be staying on-site.
Assumption #3 is you will not be going to a park on Tuesday until they allow MVMCP ticket holders in.
Assumption #4 is that you will have 3-day park tickets (although option 2 allows for just a 2-day park ticket).

I'd propose the following Option 4 (3-day park tickets and a MVMCP ticket):
Saturday - Hollywood Studios from 4pm (Osborne Lights and Fantasmic!)
Sunday - Magic Kingdom all day
Monday - Epcot all day
Tuesday - Magic Kingdom for the Christmas Party

Yeah - I know it breaks my rule. The only reason I have HS first is because of the Osborne Lights -just be prepared for crowds. The rest figures in crowd calendars and recommended parks for your days. Not sure if you have plans for the day on Tuesday, but Disney Springs and/or resort hopping could easily fit there.

I like option 1 - and I'd consider park hopping...I think you could do HS and AK in one day.

I second the advice to look at EasyWDW's crowd calendar.

You could not pay me to go to MK on a Saturday (well, you could, but it would have to be a lot of money). I know Mondays are supposed to be bad, too. So I guess maybe Sunday is the least of several bad choices. Tuesdays seem generally recommended, but it sounds like you need an "all-day" MK day that is not Tuesday.

I am by NO means an expert, but my attitude is to pick the least horribly crowded day for MK and just build the other parks around that.

I would definitely say option 3. As much as I love Hollywood Studios it's not a all day park. It is also nice to relax for a little bit then head out to the parks. Epcot is a all day park. World Showcase usually doesn't open till 11. A full day for Magic Kingdom and then the Christmas party the next day will be perfect. Option 3 is your best bet =)

Option 3. You can definitely do DHS in an afternoon, plus they leave the Osbourne Lights on after closing, so you really have longer than stated park hours for DHS.
