Hi everyone...we are looking for one more table service. Either at Epcot or MGM. We currently have PSB..but Hubby wants me to cancel to enjoy a NON character dinner..since we already have 4 characters planned...one which includes..CRT...(can you tell I am bitter?? I would love all character dining! lol) anywho..do you reccomend anyplace good? We were thinking either Sci Fi, or 50's Prime time...could you tell me a bit about what to expect at those experiences??

Thanks
:earsgirl:

We just got back yesterday and I just wrote reviews on Sci Fi and 50's PTC. Both were great.

If you're looking for fun, I would definitely recommend 50's PTC. If you're looking for a more quiet meal, I would say Sci Fi. It is very dark inside and people are very quiet while watching the movies.

Le Cellier in the world showcase at Epcot has gotten some excellent reviews lately.

I need more information...how many children...ages...and 4 character meals??? You will be driving him crazy! :) I love them, but 2 is my max for a 7 night stay...they can get really loud and you can't really relax and enjoy your meal because you're putting your fork down to take pictures and it can get crazy! :)

But for meals that I really love at Epcot and MGM...I'd go for

1. Rose & Crown...English pub dining...if you can arrange it around the fireworks it's the best spot! Great fish/chips and the staff really make you feel welcome.

2. MGM/Mama Melrose's...or Brown Derby...both good dining in a nice atmosphere.

I like Sci-Fi...if the kids are under 10 then I'd say it's a MUST do...but again, it's dark in there and black/white movie screens all around...set up like a drive in..great for that Disney magic but for a relaxing dinner I'd say Mama Melrose's or Rose & Crown.

Have a great trip!

If you want interaction, then go to Prime Time Cafe. Many of the waiters and waitresses are real "characters." ;) :earboy2: Plus, the B&W TV reels are enjoyable. We loved our experience in July 2004.

Good-sized portions too -- you might be able to split some entres (like the fried chicken). You get to review your dessert choices thru a ViewMaster. :sunny:

I'd try Marrakesh in Epcot. It's something different and they have belly dancers. I always get a laugh when I walk by Morroco and the belly dancers are performing outside and I see all the guys staring and smiling and all the women rolling their eyes! :rotfl2: I heard they have good food too!

i'd take prime time ( eh)over scifi ( barf)but brown derby (yum)over prime time
epcot biergarten , lecellier and chefs are the best imo at epcot( haven't ever gone to japan teppanyaki as we can do that here)

We ate at PTC last week, and we all loved it. That's DW and me, plus our two granddaughters, 8 and 11. One thing I liked is that I could get a balanced meal. I had the meat loaf, and it came with mashed potatoes and green beans. Sci-Fi would have been burgers and fries, and that's about all we ate on the trip.

We poked our head in at Sci-Fi just to enjoy the atmosphere. That's enough for us.

I almost forgot... we had a ball at PTC, too. Auntie Claire had the whole room laughing, and there was interaction with other rooms too. It was a great lunch.

I would highly recommend Mama Melrose iin Disney/MGM Studios if you like Italian food at all. We had a great meal here.
