I am almost done with a kitchen renovation and decided my old cookware just won't do. I've had it FOREVER and it's mostly cheap crap, lol. I really need some new stuff. I'm no chef but I do cook dinner for the famly most nights so I want good stuff but, of course, I can't spend too much. I haven't been in the pots and pans market in a long time. What's out there? Where should I look? I'd love some ideas!

Oh, I should add they will be displayed on a very visible pot rack when not in use, so looks kind of matter, too. Thanks!:goodvibes

I have the Tools of the Trade /Bellique pots and pans from Macy's. They are really nice solid pans. They often go on sale and have free shipping. Both my daughters are starting households and I am buying them pieces for them for each birthday and xmas. THey love them too.

I am moving back to the States this month and have been looking at household items I will need to purchase to set up my new home. For cookware I have been looking at the Emeril set - 10 pc for $200 through Amazon with free shipping. I have used this cookware at my parents house - I like it.

be sure to check if the pots can gp into the dishwasher if that is important to you. I looked for new pots a few years ago and was surprised just how many said do not put in the dishwasher

I have Rachel Ray's non-stick cookware set. It's great...dishwasher safe and oven safe as well up to 400 degrees. The non-stick is not the harmful kind either. I love it!

I've had an Emerilware set for about 8 years, and I love them! I don't use the regular frying pan, though. I buy Simply Calphalon frying pans with teflon coating. I have put the lids in the dishwasher with no issue, but I hand wash everything else. Barkeepers Friend is a cleanser you can buy in the grocery store that will keep the stainless steel clean and shiny.

Have fun cooking!!! Enjoy your new purchase!

I bought a tri ply sauté pan at kohls. Using my coupon and a sale I was able to get a 12 inch copper core Tfal skillet for around $30. And I love it! I use it all the time. It heat so evenly and beautifully
.

I want the Rachel Ray - which non-stick set do u have they have the hard ardonized and i think theporcelan Non-stick? not really sure the differnece..

I have Rachel Ray's non-stick cookware et. It's great...dishwasher safe and oven safe as well up to 400 degrees. The non-stick is not the harmful kind either. I love it!

Rachel Ray and Paula Dean both have beautiful cookware, and Paula Dean has cast iron which looks beautiful on a pot rack.

I really wanted a set of Calphalon but could not afford the hefty price tag. I bought what looked to be an identical set of the non-stick variety by Kirkland at Costco. I love it! It heats very evenly. I've had it for 8 years and it looks brand new! My SIL has Calphalon and I can't tell the difference in performance or looks. The set had 2 or 3 frying pans and 4 pots all with lids. It cost about $200 in 2003.

I wanted a stainless set. I really would love an All Clad set, but the price tag is way more than I want to spend.

When DH had been at his current job for 5 years they gave him a catalog and told him to choose a gift for 5 years of service. One item was a cookware set! We both knew we needed a new set, so we got this one:

Since it was free we like it even better! But it is a good set.

I absolutely love my All-Clad. They are expensive pieces but you will never need to buy another set. They heat evenly which is a big consideration with any cookware that you buy. The finish stays nice without discoloring or scratching easily. And you can add pieces to your set over time as your needs change. Plus, they're made in the USA, so your dollars stay here instead of going to support manufacturing in another country.

:yay: We were just in the market for a new set and after Much research went with this Cuisinart set from Amazon for $115 total with shipping – I know right now they are $149 but am sure within 2 weeks they will be back down, as this happened to us.

When we first started searching they were $115, by the time I was ready to buy $149 :scared1:, luckily I watched & waited sure enough they were back down. :woohoo: We’ve had them about a month wash them in both racks of the dishwasher & they are Gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cloud9: Any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

I have a Paula Dean set that my mom bought me for Christmas. I love it. It heats well, easy to clean but not dishwasher safe (I don't think) but I do all pots and pans by hand so no big deal. I love the blue color, it's so pretty.

we're almost done in our kitchen too:thumbsup2 I'd avoid cast iron stuff...the last stove we had was cracked b/c it's SO heavy- you just can't help it on a glass top stove....so my 1st choice for cooking is scouring all thrift stores and tag sales for old 7-'s Revereware copper bottom stainless pots and pans, I have found a LOT,and they never wear out! I polish the pretty bottoms so they shine....

I just recently switched all of my anodized pans to Stainless Steel because I think it is better for our bodies.

I was given a set from Walmart called Wearever for Christmas from my Mom, and then just recently (they were delivered a few days ago), I purchased 5 Cuisinart Chefs Classic from Amazon. They are on sale (roughly around 60% discount) and some of the qualify for a buy 3 get 1 free promo.

We have Cuisinart pots and pans. We've had them for almost 11 years and they still look new. Ours have a copper insert between the bottom of the pan inside and the outside for even heating. I've burned some nasty stuff to the bottom of them (I was a newly wed that DIDN'T cook) over the years and it has always come clean.

I use one of them at least every day as we eat home 6 out of 7 nights a week.

I have a few Pampered Chef pans too and haven't had any problems.

We have Giada's set from Target and love them. They clean up so easily and cook beautifully.

I recently bought the Emeril set at Macy's and I love them. I don't know if you know this or not, but the Emeril sets and the Costco brand (Kirkland) are both made by All-Clad. I was back and forth a lot between Emeril's and Kirkland, but I decided the pieces in the Emeril set were more of what I wanted, plus I liked the glass lids in the Emeril set better. The lids in the Kirkland set aren't glass, however, this set is a little less $$$.

I have a set of Caphalon (not sure I spelled that right) and I love them! Don't want anything else.
