Last night my DD brought her Ipod to me to charge because the battery was low. We plugged it in last night and when I woke this morning it had not charged. The screen was on, but I didn't think anything of it. I unplugged it and tried to turn it off, but it won't do anything. It is frozen. I was going to try to let the battery go dead, but it has been five hours and it is still on. :confused3 I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else before I try to call Apple to see what to do.

TIA, Cindy

If it is a regular Ipod (not sure about the shuffle) try rebooting it by first switching the hold button on then off then holding down the menu and middle button at the same time for 5-10 seconds. You'll know it worked when you see the apple appear on the screen. Keep trying til it works.

When in doubt, reboot!

I also had a problem charging....turns out I needed a new cord (on a two month old ipod!)

Good Luck.

I was just wondering if the "hold" switch on top may have been turned on. That wouldn't explain it not charging though.

when my new at Christmas Ipod wouldn't charge, I turned the computer totally off and then back on a couple of times and then tried to charge and it worked

Thank you, it worked! :thumbsup2 I was so afraid my DD did something to it. She is 12, but she can be a little rough with it sometimes. I think I'll go download some songs she has been wanting for awhile now.

Thanks again :teeth:
