We're staying at Hojo. Flying, no car rental and really want In N' Out for dinner one night. Anybody take a cab/bus over there??

My sister said she looked into it when she was down there earlier this year and whatever cab company she looked (can't remember which one) was going to be so expensive that it wasn't worth it.

There's a In-N-Out burger in Fullerton, a 2 1/2 mile drive up Harbor Blvd from Hojo's. The bonus is that there's a Disney Outlet just around the corner from it (less than a 5 min walk from there). It's become a tradition for us to hit the In-N-Out before we check into our hotel once we arrive in Anaheim. Any visit to In-N-Out burger is worth it to us. You could always ask the cab driver on route to your hotel to stop at the one closest to HOJO's. This way it would cut down on the cab costs and you get your In-N-Out fix.

Lol yes, we're Oregonians so we need our In N Out fix!! Haha We're taking a suPer shuttle from the airport though so that won't work. Bummer. I can't imagine a 2.5mi cab ride could be that expensive. She made it sound like it was going to be like $50. Hmmm...
Would the cab make us use carseats for the kids or should I just send DH? Love that outlet store though.....

It depends on the ages of the kids....I think it's up to age 6 for car seats in CA, but it may have changed since I was there last (Sept/11). I also think the laws are different for vans and taxi's, so it couldn't hurt to check out a taxi company and see what their policies are when it comes to booster seats.

Have any days off from the parks? If so go to the rental car place in DTD and get a car for the day, go the character warehouse and In & Out. Or get the bus route and go via OCTA.

We love In-n-Out too and are renting a car specifically to be able to head there at least twice while we're at DLR this October. :goodvibes

We are planning to go on our way to the hotel after we land at SNA. I have never been but DH LOVES In N Out! Can't wait to see what it is all about!

You can grab the Harbor Blvd bus (#43) anywhere on Harbor headed north, and it will take you right to In and Out. It costs $1.50 per person. You will exit the bus at the stop right after crossing Orangethorpe.

That's what I was going to suggest as well! It should be an easy bus ride, straight up Harbor with no switching (and no car seat requirement on the bus). If you have no desire to go to the outlet or shop in the area, you could just send one person and save the bus fare for the entire group (if there are a bunch of you). Of course, your fries may be cold by then... On second thought, it may be worth it for the whole group to go!

I don't get the hype, it's good but not great. We aren't fans of the fries at all, but the burger is good. We won't wait when the line is huge tho, we just go somewhere else. lol

Ok I don't like the fries at In & Out, warm or cold, unless they are animal style and then they have to be hot. I do like the shakes tho. :)

It took me a while to get used to their fries. They're fresh, they cut them right there in front of you. But I HATED them the first few times I tried them. Now, I think I've acquired the taste. I love the cheeseburgers, though (I like mine animal style, no sauce). I haven't tried animal style fries - what do they have on them?

We love it too!! For us, even though it's only 2 1/2 miles away, when we drive, it seems like forever. I guess because we hit all the red lights. I'd take the bus, or maybe bus there and cab back, then you can go shopping at the outlet. Or I like the rent a car option, than you can go to other places :) I'd check the price of everything and see what works best for your family.

Now, I want a burger and fries from there bad, yummm!!! Have fun

I don't get the hype either! Ya, they're sorta old fashioned, fresh style which sure beats McD's and the like. But everytime I've tried, the burgers are overcooked, dried out and less than appealing. The fries while fresh cut are flavorless. Again, compared to McD's they're excellent! But there are so many other places to get a decent burger thats far better.

I love Fuddruckers although they recently were sold to another corporation and changes at their restaurants are less than ideal. Their fries are excellent. I also tend to prefer Sonic burgers but their fries are average at best.

At DLR the best burgers so far I've found have been at Jazz Kitchen Express. Fresh off the grill, juicy and not overcooked or dried out. The seasoned fries are great.

Cali car seat laws mirror what you are used to in Oregon so yes a cab would require car seats. Also you will need them for the super shuttle, unless it is a bus.

But the bus doesn't and is an easy way to get there and cheaper.

Try the fries well done...they taste much better! Just ask for them well done.

Animal style have the sauce, grilled onions and sometimes cheese on them. I think I've had them both with and without cheese, but I may be wrong. :) So it's basically the dressing and grilled onions.

I love Sonic burgers, we always get tots when we eat at Sonic. :) tots are the BEST!!!
I know the fries at I&O are fresh, but I just don't like them, and I've tried them a few times. :)

I've never tried that, I do like my fries well done. :)

Well I am a so cal native, and I have never cared much for In and Out. Its is average to me at best, and I love burgers as I could eat burgers everyday. So count me in with the people who just don't see what the big deal is with In and Out. Yes better than McDonalds, but I like Carls Jr. and Jack and the box better. I guess that last sentence opens me up to the flames. I am ready.
