I need ideas for a "family" baby gift

One of my first grade students Mom just had a new baby. She now has a 2 year old, a 4 yeat old, a 6 year old and the new baby. I would like to get a "family" present for them...any great new ideas? I was thinking of a rose bush or small tree with some little gardening equipment so they could plant the bush for the new baby but I would love some other ideas.......anyone have a GREAT idea???

I would bring over a basket of muffins or something that the mom can just put into the freezer or oven for a fast and easy meal.
Another idea would be a new family sign or stepping stone with all of their new members names.
I do like your idea of a tree, maybe a citrus one that they can use to make lemonade, or orange juice.

What about a certificate to go have a family picture taken. One of my favorite pictures of my boys is when my youngest was just a few weeks old and my oldest is kissing him.

As a new mom of a 4th child, I would LOVE something that kept the kids busy and shortened my workload, so movie rental gift certificates, game, coloring books with crayons and stickers, muffins (for a no-work breakfast) would be wonderful and very appreciated.

The pic idea is nice, but also very personal--everyone likes different types. If she has 3 kids already, she may have a preferred photographer. If you don't know, I wouldn't do this.

How about a complete Honey Baked Ham dinner. That would give the family a few meals and a break for mom.

Some great ideas here! The only one I can think of to add is maybe a family membership to someplace to go. When we lived in Monterey we had a family membership to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and it was an awesome thing to be able to pick up and go do of an afternoon when people were squirrelly. A museum, discovery center, etc.

I just love them!! Keep them coming. I know some of the other teachers want to get something too as this is a family that the parents went to our school as children etc. These are such GREAT ideas!!!
