Hello, I'm having a very hard time purchasing tickets/hotel for Tokyo Disney. What's sad is, I literally live in Japan. Granted it's Sapporo which is a very long way from Tokyo, I have never been in Tokyo outside of the airport. I'm an international (American) student and the website has rejected my American credit card. I have both an American account, while my boyfriend (from Hong Kong) kindly signed up for a Japanese account because he didn't trust the American website. But regardless it took maybe over three hours to make a reservation and then lose it all because the card was an American card. And then trying again several times alone. The website takes several minutes to load each time you go to a different page. I'm so frustrated. I considered going to a Japanese travel agency after school today, only to walk all the way there and they require reservations. But the truth is I have my doubts that a Japanese travel agency will even help me if I'm not Japanese. And obviously American travel agencies are only in America. I also don't have THAT much spare money to begin with. Does anyone know how I can pay for tickets and a hotel with an American card? Or something I can do?

I bought Tokyo Disneyland tickets from Klook as the website automatically denied my credit cards. I'm not sure how to help with hotels as the website accepted my Mastercard without any issue. Do you have two factor authorization for purchases on your card? Maybe that's why it's not booking the hotel? Purely spitballing the last part as I didn't have a problem with booking rooms.

Can you ask at your international student office? We used to ask ours for help with all sorts of stuff like this when I lived in Tokyo. Do you have Japanese student buddies assigned to you? This feels like the sort of thing you might be able to buy at a FamilyMart or Lawson, but those machines are so complicated I definitely always called in help! I haven't lived in Japan for years but I was an international student in Tokyo and then lived there for another couple of years all in. I still miss it! I hope you're having a good time! Have you made it to Niseko? That's the only place I managed to go on Hokkaido, but I'd love to see Sapporo--esp the snow/ice festival! Ganbatte!

Tom Briker of www.disneytouristblog.com has the same problem with buying tickets from the Japanese website using American Credit cards (he tried several), so he recommends Klook. I bought tickets from Klook too and they currently have a coupon for 10% discount. I downloaded and linked the tickets in the resort app, so it worked well.

However, Briker was able to book a vacation package, so maybe it's only tickets that, for some reason, are a problem. Try booking the hotel separately.

Now that I bought tickets on Klook, Facebook will keep showing me ads for Klook until I'm dead 🤣
Anyway, I got one with a discount code:

🎉 🧡Score 10% OFF with code [EU10BDBASH] and enjoy up to 50% OFF on attractions, tours, transports, and more as we celebrate our 10th birthday!

I hope it works for you.

Klook is a trustworthy 3rd party website that works with American cards and accounts. CC issues are common with the Tokyo Disney website. I used a Chase Sapphire Reserve and it worked on the first try.

If you're able to get a hotel room reservation, you're guaranteed the ability to buy tickets when you arrive, so you don't need to worry about getting them ahead of time.
