Hi!

DH and I want to take our girls (3 and 5) for their first WDW trip next year! Our tentative plan is to go for 10 days beginning April 24th, 2017. I'm a little nervous about crowd levels since it's a week after Easter which falls on April 16 next year. Will the crowds still be insane? We could go just about any time in March, but I'm under the assumption that many will be there for spring break during March? Also, later in May could possibly work, but with schools in the south letting out towards the end of May, I don't want to be stuck in those crowds either. Help! Are any of these good times to go? Summer is completely off the table and we live towards Ohio so I'd rather not risk traveling during Jan or Feb.

Thank you!

Easter crowds are manageable, so i assume the week after would be light to heavy crowds.

i wouldn't expect massive lines, probably 40+ minute waits for most rides.

Easter was reported to have terrible crowds this year. I would definitely opt for March, instead.

I would go in March - we try to avoid crowds if possible and Easter is the second busiest time of the year, so I wouldn't want to cut it too close by going the week following.

It's Disney. It's going to be crowded whenever you go. Since summer 2015, we have done: 4th of July (2015), Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Presidents Day, 4th of July (2016). Christmas Day itself is super busy in MK, but beyond that I think that as long as you use FP+ and such to the fullest, it's nothing that should keep you away from going whenever you want.

Born and raised in PA, lived the last 2 years in Atlanta. School here does get out much earlier, usually around May 25th-30th. But that just means you'll have more of the "locals" there. Many of them are AP holders anyway, and come at all different times during the year, so I don't see it making a huge difference. Schools in the northeast, which is where WDW gets a HUGE part of their summer attendance, are still in session. You'd be fine at the end of May.

Thanks for the advice! I'm thinking we'll stick with the April dates since it's the most convenient date for our family. Hopefully the Easter crowds will have dissipated towards the end of the month.

You'll be fine. The Easter crowds are the two weeks around Easter Day, so by the time you get there, they'll be gone. By the 24th, spring breaks will be over, whereas, March is college spring break season. And with 10 days, you can take your time and manage any crowd that is there.
