In November I will be taking my Girl Scout troop, along with a whole bunch of additional family members (total 48), for a week at Disney. We are staying at FW. We have booked 3 tent sites and 3 Wilderness homes. I'm wondereing if anyone out there has ever done this before. I'm specifically worried about getting a group of this size around within FW, ideally on one bus, and how much time we need to plan to get around. I would also welcome any suggestions on the best locations for us as well as suggestions on any aspect of our trip.

As a side note, has anyone ever had the Thanksgiving meal at the Pioneer Hall? The one with entertainment. We had planned on just doing the Trail's End on Thanksgiving, but the other option sounded interesting.

Thanks in advance for any help.:sunny:

OK, I'll post a couple of comments here.

First of all, 3 cabins and 3 "tent sites"? If the "tent sites" are partial hook up sites they will be in either the 1500 or 2000 loop. Neither of these loops are "real close" to the cabins. You may want to re-think this issue. If you go with full hook up sites you could have cabins in the 2100 loop and campsites in the 1100 loop. Close enough to walk back and forth.

Trying to move 48 folks at the same time is going to be a royal "pain". How about breaking up into smaller groups and only getting back together for specific things like meals?

The Pioneer Hall show is the Hoop Dee Do. It is a great show and I think your grop would have a great time, but it does cost:confused:

How old are your Girl Scouts? Is there any way for some to bring bikes? Bikes would be really helpful........................

When we went with the Girl Scouts, we were in the "primitive camping area". We thought it would be more economical to go back to the site for lunch. Bad idea!! Spent so much time on buses that unless the bussing system has changed (I doubt) I would not consider that again. The way I remember it, you had to hop on the internal bus (Chip or Dale?) which takes you to the central bus stop and from there you had to hop another bus (Boone or Crocket?) to take you to the TTC and then transfer from there. Big mess. If this is they way it still is, consider taking sandwiches, etc. in backpacks and maybe using the lockers but I wouldn't go back at lunchtime.
Our troop split into 2 groups (cuz we just didn't like the sneaky tactics of the troop leader[troop disbanded shortly after because of her]) so our group was a manegeable(sp?) 19. I couldn't imagine 48 people to keep track of!! Have fun!!
