I need help w/ Hollywood Tour Suggestions...please!

Any suggestions on a Hollywood Tour company? We will be staying at the Hollywood Renaissance and therefore can do that area on our own. I was looking for a Beverly Hills/Hollywood sign and whatever else tour! Thanks!

I went on this Universal/Hollywood tour in June through Grayline. It was called the Universal Delux package I believe. That was definately the highlight of my entire trip. Grayline bus picks you up at your hotel well before the Universal park opens, it (Takes you to the bus loop where you grab your next bus after getting your park pass things for your enitre party, then you take the next bus to Universal for park opening.You spend all day opening to close at Universal, then the same bus you took out to LA will drive you around Hollywood to the Chinese theater, Sunset Strip, Walk of Fame, they show you celebrity houses (including Johnny Depps and Drew Barrymoore's). You go passed the Disney Concert Hall, go to a Farmers Market, then make a stop at the hall where they host the academy awards every year. You can walk around their fountains and everything. There is loads more but you get the idea.

Then the bus brings you back to your hotel in Anaheim.

That seems like a lot! How long did it take? I'd like to do a tour, but I can't decide which one.

If you're staying at the Hollywood Renaissance, you're just steps away from Graumann's Chinese Theater, and Starline Tours operates from there. They have a Hollywood Trolley tour that will take you around. I did that one & enjoyed it. It took us up in a neighborhood & we had a nice close view of the Hollywood sign. We also took a tour of the stars home and went up in the Hollywood Hills. The only thing I didn't like about that is that it was in a van, and although the windows are big, many of the houses are behind tall fences or hedges & you really don't get a good view of them. But, we also went down Rodeo Drive, and other streets that I found interesting.

We also did Starline from the Chinese Theater and we loved it. Regular price was $39 per person and we got it for like $25 per person on the spot. We took the shuttle with the open roof and it was nice since it was a beautiful day. We did the Hollywood sign (the best spot for pictures and all), the houses of the stars in the Hollywood Hills, Beverly Hills and BelAir and then we ended our tour on Rodeo Drive and got back to the Chinese Theater. It was a GREAT tour!

We did the starline tours and they have people bidding for your money so you can bargin. I'm from so. cal. and we had a car. We bought a star map after the tour and just drove to some of the similar sights and got better views.

We did starline with the van with open top and really enjoyed it. The only thing was that we skipped the Hollywood sign. The bus we got on had already been up there, it came back down and we got on. I believe he was supposed to take us back up after dropping off the first group and loading up again, but our tour had already lasted 2 1/2 hours and so they didn't offer, we didn't ask. It usually lasts not quite 2 hours. Freddie was our driver and alot of fun.

We just decided spur of the moment to do it but it was my favorite part.

That sounds like something I would like to do. Didn't they have one that used to go by the place John Belushi died?

Definitely book Dearly Departed in advance. We tried to do it in June and were shut out.
