This is kind of a long story but I will try to make it as brief as possible. About a year ago I booked a 4 night stay at Disney and 4 night cruise on the Wonder. Was going to take my wife, 2 children 5 & 4 and my stepson and his girlfriend. 17 & 18. Around Nov stepson & girlfriend broke up and so my stepson did not want to come on this trip. Was able to cancel him out of the trip around the first of Jan. He would now like to come and bring a friend, but friend can't come for the whole time. I thought I would book him and his friend at Disney for two nights and then take them on the ship with us. I wanted to do this without telling his Mom (I thought it would be a nice surprise for her to find him sitting poolside at the Poly) Here is my problem. I called Disney to try to book it directly through them and the women there politely told me there was no chance of doing this. She said because my stepson is 17 and his friend being 18 they could not book be in the same room without an adult over 21. I told her that wife and I were on this cruise and one of us would change rooms so that an adult could be in each room. She then told me since it was land/sea I would have to book them for the whole trip even though they were not going to be at Disney. In other words 2 extra nights at the Poly. Also since my trip is less than 30 days out I would have to pay penalties to cancel and rebook. I'm waiting to here back from travel agent, but was wondering if anyone has any creative ideas on this one.
