We got a too good to be true rate for our 3/7 flight from Manchester to Orlando.

At the time there were no rates available after 3/9, but we took a leap of faith because the rate was so low. Now our Disney package is booked, personal days have been approved and we are locked into flying home on 3/11.

All of the great rates are listed as 'unavailable.' Should I book the refundable any time rate of 224.00 and cancel if a lower rate comes along? Is it possible that there will be lower rates for that day if they all say unavailable right now?

Thanks in advance!

Check return fares to ALB and PVD, maybe you can save enough to rent a car and drive home from there. Otherwise keep the faith, SWA frequently has DINGS from MHT to MCO and back - about one month out.
If you are nervous, book the refundable fare for insurance.
Can't beat those $39, $49, and $57 DINGS!

We booked our Oct trip the last week of Aug. We had an Internet fare $59 going down and an Advanced purchase $164 it was all that was avail for the 3 earliest flights back ( all other better prices showed Unavail.)

I ended up with a sale and a few dings on both flights and ended up paying $112 RT total fees and all.

So yes the price could go down but no there is no definites.

We don't worry about getting our CC refunded as we always have another trip right aroud the corner.

We are ikn the same predicament for April. I called SWA.They do not expect to add flights but it could happen.I confirmed the refundable fair includes all taxes and fees and there is no penalty.Even the non refundable is somewhat refundable provided you cancel and just dont no show. If you cancel a non refundable fare you get a voucher for use within 1 yr of purchase date.I booked last night and will just keep checking to see if I can get a better rate going home.

fares open up and change all the time with SW. I booked our flights when the January dates opened up ~ they were not my first choice of times, but my first choice was unavailable at the lower rate. I check the rates daily and have noticed that previously unavailable fares are now available. It seems to change almost daily.

I just switched our flight from 8:55 PM out of PVD to 8:00 PM out of MHT ~ a little bit better time for us and a cheaper fare than PVD. I wil continue to check PVD for the 5:45 PM flight since that is my first choice and will switch if it becomes available.

We fly Southwest all the time out of MHT. I would call Southwest and ask them to hold reservations for the fully refundable fare. They will not charge your credit card. When the price drops (and it will), go ahead and book the new fare and cancel the refundable one. This is what I did on my outbound and ended up booking a fare of $79 (with tax).

Terk-1
How long will they hold a reservation for a refundable ticket without charging the credit card. I'm trying for flights that were unavailable within a hour of being released. Hard to believe they sold out that quickly.
Thanks Deb
