Although I work as a paralegal I mainly deal with personal injuries and criminal law. I have a few legal questions about Family Court and my firm doesn't handle family law. If there is a Dis lawyer here I would appreciate knowing what to expect from a Family Court Motion for Temporary Allowances.

Thank you very much in advance!

without posting what you have questions about, you will not get many replies. If you post the questions, you may get replies from people who have BTDT and have legal answers for you without being a lawyer.

what exactly do you mean by family allowances? are we talking child support calculations?

One of the reasons you may not be getting any answers is that family law can vary greatly from state to state. I work in family law in NH and I know another paralegal who works in MA. You'd be amazed at how different our laws are. Unless someone on these boards practices in the state you're in, its very hard to answer. Its also really hard to answer a general question like that without knowing any of the details.

I'm sure there are several lawyers on the dis.

The ones who will give you advice for free?

Not a lot of those. You work with attorneys, you should know that their knowledge is their currency.
