OK so its only at the Doubletree at DTD....but we have never in 5 years stayed off property. And have only stayed in villas since joining DVC.

But I have a conference for work in May at the Doubletree and of course I am taking my family. The conference rate is only $125/night for a 2 room suite. Also staying there will allow me to go to the conference and go back to the room while DH and the girls are playing.

I'm slightly nervous because we use our kitchen in the villa a lot, also how do we do ADRs? I'm so clueless without member services!

Have a great time! We're staying off site for our next trip, using two surplus RCI trades, so I'm trying to temper my expectations for that trip, LOL.

You can make ADR's online very easily at http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/dining/. It's easy and you can see a listing of all of your reservations.

Have fun planning!

That property is pretty close. I took a cab from AKV and it cost about $20. I rented a car there on our last visit.

We always rent a car....I know they have a budget desk there....its just the idea of NOT being at Disney!!! I can't help it...I think I need to lower my expectations!

Our first three trips to the world involved the Double Tree (once we experienced the Polynesian, it spoiled us). It was an okay place for the price.

One piece of advise, the DTD hotel buses were not as efficient as the Disney transportation. We spent a more of time waiting for buses at the parks and the buses stop at all the DTD hotels. I think the Double Tree was one of the last on the stops back from the parks. Just something to keep in mind.

It's been a few years, so maybe thing have changed, I don't know.

Overall, it was enjoyable, especially before we discovered the Polynesian and not DVC.
