...a new car. I have my choices narrowed down to the:

VW Jetta
Subaru Impreza
Nissan Sentra

I'm wondering if anyone owns any of these cars, and could help me. Or if you have a better suggestion. Any advice can help, thanks.

We have a Beetle. I love it, but it was made in Mexico and has minor annoying things wrong with it. I have heard that VW NOT made in Mexico are still of high quality. :)

I say skip the Jetta and upgrade to the VW Passat. :) V6 4Motion. Woo baby. <wipes drool off mouth>

I'm currently a VW Beetle owner and I have had nothing but good experience with the dealership I go to, and with the VW brand in general. Hope that helps. I'm sure you'll get a lot of other good opinions too. :)

Let us know what you end up choosing!

We used to own a Subaru Impreza, and I loved that car!!!
We got great gas mileage, the engine and body integrity were fantastic- the only problem we had with it is when we needed to replace the tires.
Evidently the tire size is unusual enough that not a lot of places carry them- or they didn't used to.
I'd check on that for any vehicle that you're considering before making a final decision.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!

I have a Nissan Sentra and I love mind. It's a great car. The gas milage is excellent. I have no majors problems with mine. I just had to replace brakes and tires over the years. I have had mine for 10 years and still going strong.

I was to buy a it be the Sentra or new Altima that they have out.

I love my Jetta (2001). I really wanted the Passat, but we couldn't afford it with all of the options. We went for the loaded Jetta instead. :D

if it matters, I understand that the volkswagen's recommend top grade gas, so you probably wouldn't want to use lesser grades. Might make it pricey.

We have a Nissan Altima that is going strong with over 150k miles on it. DH is in sales, so a lot was freeway driving, but still!

Only the Passat recommends higher grade gasoline. The Jetta runs on the same old stuff as everyone else.

My Beetle recommends anything above 91 octane. I use 87, no problems, no pinging... It's been fine!

My 2002 Jetta GLS says to use 87 octane...

I personally dont like 4 cylinder cars the darn thing is just too slow for me but it was all I could afford... she's cute and reliable but a little on the slow side for me.

My Jetta is the 4 cylinder GLS too. I really wish I had the 6 cylinder. :( When we bought it, it was supposed to by DH's new car, so Mr. Cheapo said the 4 banger would be fine for him (although I did talk him into the leather and sunroof!!). Well, lo and behold, just 6 months later he decides to ditch my Ford Explorer for a new Tacoma. Guess which one he's driving? You got it, the V6 Tacoma. I love my Jetta, but I would like a little more power.

I love my Passat! I don't put the high grade gas in it and I haven't had any problems with it. My neighbor has one that has over 250k miles on and it just keeps going and going. Good luck!

Go with the Jetta, VW's have great resale value and are great cars!
