Anyone have any cute ideas for me? I got involved with this, and thats my job to find out something cute to make.

Is there a theme for the party?

I try to stay away from the trinket-y stuff, only because I personally have no room for it.

What I did for my SIL's shower.

Bought a case of Hershey's Bars.

Made up 2 templates, half out of blue craft paper, and half out of pink craft paper.

Cut the paper so that it is the same size as the candy bar wrapper.

Then, cut out a window on the pink wrappers, so all you can see are the letters SHE from Hershey's.

Cut out a window on the blue wrappers, so all you can see are the letters HE from Hershey's.

Almost everyone loves chocolate, and you eat it, and voila! It's gone.

Hope this helps, and if you want or need more details, please feel free to PM me.

Debbie

I agree with Deb that candy or food is the safest thing. Most people don't need another candle or knick knack.

what I have done in the past -

for a bumble bee theme - bought some silver tins, filled them with bit-o-honey and wrapped a lable around the tin that said "sweet baby"

a couples shower - the girls received the same silver tin with bath crystals in it, guys received cigars

rubber duck theme - passed out an individually wrapped duck shaped cookie frosted in pale yellow frosting with a thank you for attending tag tied to the ribbon

general baby theme - filled small clear bags (available at craft or candy supply stores) with pastel colored taffy, folded the top of the bag over and sealed it with a baby sticker.

general - filled tins with either pink of blue jelly beans, fun to see which one the mom got

puppy theme - again the small bags filled with homemade puppy chow (muddy buddies, whatever you call it)

Packages of "babies breath" flowers on the place setting?

Here are a few more:

Mini clay flower pots, with seed packets and potting soil in a ziploc.

A single baby powder scented votive wrapped in toile with ribbon.(You can NEVER have too many candles!)

I love the jelly bean idea or how about single colored M&Ms.

Wishing everyone a "magical" day!

Another vote here for food, not trinkets, LOL! ;)
I love the Hershey Bar idea.
How about white chocolate(pink & blue) lollipops. Most party stores have the molds for something to do with babies(booties, bottles, etc...)

I was at a baby showere once and the hostess took cocktail napkins and folded them to look like tiny diapers, and then fastened them close with little safety pin. Then they put in mints for a snack.

they had folded hard type paper with a cute saying and two salt water taffys in it.....on the outside was a little t shirt .....a safety pin and a diaper....very tiny of course....I believe these were done with stamping.....really cute idea.......the game was guess how many m & ms were in the baby bottle........MOI won that prize of a dunkin donut gift certificate......I was very happy......
we are doing the baby shower this weekend and have so many people coming I dont' know if I can do favors this late in the game.......oy oy oy.....

Not a favor, but a good idea I think. I went to a shower once and the hostess bought packages of thank you notes and had all of the guests fill out the envelopes prior to heading out for the day.

mainly because she is almost to her due date and less stress for her to look up each address

Wow you guys have great showers.
I have never been to a baby shower where the guests got favors....
I love the hershey bar idea too!
Give me chocolate any day.
Hope you have a great shower.

What cute ideas! I'll have to remember some of these for the next baby shower I throw.

You guys are so creative!

I pm'd you with some more info. I do the custom candy bars as my business for all occasions. I create all types of custom candy favors using hershey bars, hershey miniatures, matchmints, where they look like matchbooks and inside I put indivdually sealed lifesavers. I am a vendor for Babies R Us and these go over very well with moms to be for their showers. Let me know if I can help you in any way.Baby showers are so much fun-so whatever you wind up doing it will be great!!!
If you would like my website info just PM or email me.

We just did favors for a baby "girl" shower for DDs coach! DD bought hot pink, pale pink and white M&M's, put them in small candy bags and tied them with pink & white ribbons and had a tiny, tiny pink pacifier dangling, placed through the ribbon. (M&M's come in all colors now...pinks, blue's, yellows & greens. Just check with a your local candy store)

On the tables we put a single small jar baby powder scented candle, which we bought a A.C. Moore for a dollar each. :Pinkbounc

We did the Hershey bar thing for my sisters shower. we printed baby pictures of her and her boyfriend on the wrapper. For mine they made blue chocolate bootie lollipops.

For my SIL's baby shower for my nephew, we wrapped blue candles in white tulle and tied them with different ribbons. We attached a small card about the size of a business card with a cute little poem on it. We also signed the card "With love from" and the parents names, so they served as a Thank you as well as a party favor. My SIL had a basket of the candles to give people that came to visit her in the hospital, too.

Some of my favorites are
the "nugget" mini candy bars and using address labels and your print shop to make covers for the bars, the address label fits perfect and they are self stick so no gluing or cutting

and
I like using lifesavers and a blue or pink or pastel colored jelly
beans (like jelly belly) and putting them together so they look like pacifers.

If you need any more info or ideas just email me

I have done this for a few of my friends and co-workers. Make sugar cookies and cut them out in either a teddy bear shape or they make foot prints and then ice them with pink or blue icing.
I then wrapped them individually in clear cellophane bags and tied them with a coordinating ribbon. They look very cute and everyone has a cookie or two to take home.
