I need F&W 101.

It may be early to start talking about the F&W Festival, but I am booked to go in November and I'm super excited. I need the experts to come out and give me F&W 101. Please tell me how it works.

I see that there are different tasting stations. Do these stay open the entire day or just certain hours? Are there any events in the evenings? We will be hanging with the kids during the day so I was wondering if there was much available during dinner hours or later.

We love F & W and have gone for the past 10 years.
There will be about 20 - 24 International food booths around WS lagoon. They are open from 11 AM to 9 PM. Each booth serves 2 -4 "tapa sized" servings of a native food/dessert, as well as local beer and/or wine. The cost for the food ranges from about $4 to $7 per serving. You can "nosh around the world" and it is great fun, but it can get expensive.
There are also many, many special, extra cost events like wine schools, wine pairings, Party for the Senses, Sweet Sundays, book signings etc.
This years schedule has not yet been announced.
Keep an eye out here.

If you are considering F&W for dinner, I would suggest a week night, to avoid standing in long lines. Friday night and all day Saturday are usually very crowded. Enjoy!!

A couple of general bits of info:

While you are able to pay cash at each of the food booths, Disney also sells a "debit card" that you can wear around your wrist. You can add money whenever you want. If money remains on the card at the end, you can use it any of the disney stores for normal purchases, or you can carry it over until the next year's Food & Wine. It doesn't expire. (You should obviously check this information to be sure it hasn't changed before you purchase the card.) I did find this card useful and just hung on to my receipts to track my spending.

I have found that for me, in order to sample all of the foods/drinks that I want to try at the Festival, I split up my time between two "visits". I will go there at 11:00a, when World Showcase opens, eat my way around the world while visiting the countries along the way. When I start to get full, which often ends up being around half way, I leave. I will either return later and have dinner finishing up the second half, or will come back the next day and start at the other end of World Showcase.

I always set aside a certain amount of money in advance that will go specifically for F&W purchases. That way I know that I won't spend too much, while not feeling guilty for spending a lot on small portions.

Last tip: Try new things. Don't fill up on the items you can get anytime, anywhere. Try new foods that you might not have easy access to.
