so here's the deal! We are going with my mother to POR for a week. All of a sudden my brother wants to go with us. He doesn't have a lot of money to spend so Im trying to find him a hotel in DTD that hopefully he can walk to the boat and take it to POR to visit with us. Im hoping the experts around these parts can help me find something that will work location and price wise! TIA!!!:goodvibes

I know nothing about taking a boat to POR, but if price is an issue, The Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort is usually the lowest priced of the DTD hotels. I think all of them are relatively close to DTD with the Hilton, Buena Vista Palace, and Wyndham being the closest.

Thanks for the quick reply ! I seem to be coming up with the same result! I wonder how far the walk is? Maybe their site will give some info! Thanks again for the info!!

The Wyndham is super close to DTD!! From the front entrance of the hotel to Earl of Sandwich area of DTD, it's like 3 minutes. It's very close!!!

yes he can do it - now they moved the DVC resort to where PI boat dock was - not sure if they moved PO or not.
the
you need to ask on the other board.

right now there is a special going on - BW, Wyndham and RP - are all the same price $69 w/o taxes or fees

think that LBVBW does NOT charge fees - while the others do???

hope the days you need are still available.

the walk from LBVBW to the buses (not the boats) is around 10 to 15 minutes - old and fat. So your brother can probably do it much faster.

oh tell him at night at Epcot to take the bus at BC - thru the IG - take the DD bus back to the room - it is much faster.

Best Western does have a resort fee, I believe its $10/night.

Holiday Inn WDW is a nice hotel. We stayed for 10 nights last year. It's a 5-10 min walk to DTD. The Hilton is the closest to DTD (directly a crossed the street), and also had EMH. The Holiday Inn is next door to the Hilton. The Hilton was a little more expensive, so we chose the Holiday Inn, as it's still very close, and was the newest of the bunch.

I'm not sure about getting a boat to POR, but in my opinion, it's fantastic being able to walk to DTD anytime. I love that location.
