Our rental home is in Eagle Point, I need the quickest and easiest route to Disney. I have never stayed offsight so I'm really scared about getting lost. Is it easy to find you way once your on property, I never really paid attention to which way the busses were going. I am not the best with north, west, east and south. I'm afraid I find my way by left, right and landmarks or road names. I need a driving Disney For Dummies book if they had one. I hope someone can help.  :D

I wish I could help you but all I can say is, it won't be as bad as you think!
We've been driving around DW for years but I can never figure out the directions (north, south, east, and west) around there.

Allow yourself extra travel time so you are not in a hurry.

You will eventually get to where you are going. ;)

There have been other posts written about this, it's common to be nervous about driving around DW.
It's common to get a little lost too but it's okay!
After one or two excursions, you will start to feel more comfortable and more familiar with the area.
I hope someone does give you some detailed directions but, if not, don't sweat it.
You'll be just fine! :)

Go to maps.yahoo.com I always use this to get my directions. You can get your directions to Florida, to your resort, to Disney, back to resort from Disney, etc. I makes me feel a lot better having my directions all printed out. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I was beginnig to think that no one was going to reply. I know that I am probably just being paranoid. I truly loved the Disney bus system but I just didn't want all 4 of us in 1 room again. We were at each other's throats last time.:)

Getting into Disney isn't a problem; it's getting out that gets tricky!! I sometimes think it's a plot to keep you on Disney property. ;) Ask when you check in for detailed directions and you should have few problems, just be aware that you may get turned around a few times before you get it right. Hey, who knows? you may discover a new route to Universal!!!

There are several ways to get to Disney from Eagle Point, but as the others have said, you can't really go wrong - not surprisingly WDW is signposted from everywhere! You might go further than you need to, but you'll get there eventually.

From Eagle Point (which is off Poinciana Blvd), drive towards US192 (Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway - the main drag that runs east to west through Kissimmee). Turn left onto the 192 and follow the signs. This will take you into WDW on World Drive, the north/south main arterial road leading to MK.

Another option is to stay on Poinciana Blvd as it crosses the 192 until you hit the Osceola Parkway. This runs virtually parallel with the 192 and again takes you to World Drive. It is a toll road (you will probably pay about 50c), but it is much quieter than the 192. Drive this way at least once to check out the amazing Gaylord Palms (where Osceola Parkway crosses South International Drive just before you enter WDW property).

If your destination is Downtown Disney, you may be better off staying on Poinciana Blvd until it hits SR535 (you will cross 192 and Osceola Parkway). This road takes you right to the Lake Buena Vista entrance to WDW at Hotel Plaza Blvd which is directly opposite DTD Marketplace.

Hope I haven't confused you!

One more option, take Poinciana to 535, then 536 onto Disney property. Takes you right into the Epcot/MGM area. We got home every night in 10 minutes - except for when we were at MK.
You just cannot get away from that place quickly.

I'm with DisneyFool, it's a plot to keep you on property. ;)

Hi we have stayed at Indian Point -which is near to where you are staying twice now, and have found the best wasy to the world traffic wise is as follows - sorry I might not know the road numbers.

Take poinciana Blvd up to the 192, and go straight across follow the road you pass under an overpass and at the next traffic lights turn left (there is a petrol station (gas station) on the left hand corner at this junction) This road that you are now on takes you past the Buena vista f/outlet at the next main junction turn left (right will take you to International Drive) and this road leads straight to the world - we always managed to get there with in 10 - 15 mins of leaving the villa.
