My Husband and I are taking 7 kids and my mother to disney. This is first trip for the kid and mom so I want it to be super..

We are eating at
Wispering canyon
Coral Reef
Crystal Palace
Chef Mickey
50 Primetime
Cape May
Kona

Is there anything else I can add or do to get the full effect.

What about at POP?

I love to here your ideas I have been reading everyone story and suggestion. I can't believe everything I've learn.. Thanks for everyones help thus far.

From your list, we've eaten at Kona (very good) and Prime Time (very entertaining and decent food). I would do both again in a heartbeat.

I don't know the age of the kids, but you might also consider a character meal to get that special Disney magic. We pick ones that are either buffet or all you can eat, and pick a time so that they serve for two meals. For example a late brunch, or late lunch/early dinner.

Have a wonderful time!

You have some great choices. My only suggestion would be to get some dinner at Epcot's World Showcase. (Germany, Norway, or Canada are our favorites)

get some dinner at Epcot's World Showcase

If you can't get the reservation that you want in Epcot, then you can do what we do - eat you way around the world. We choose a couple of items from each country as we get to it and split them among us. The adults love the variety and the kids are tasting new foods.

We have those ADR already. I read once that you can send pictures to coral reef for personlize menus. I don't remember how to do it. I thought maybe the other resaurants do something to. thanks for the suggestion

Your choices look very good...all places we like. I am curious though about the Coral Reef selection...what are you looking for there? Other than the big 'fish' tank, the dining there is not good and way over-priced. I would consider another EPCOT dining option over at World Showcase that would be much better on your wallet and in your stomach!

Options would be...Biergarten, Marrakesh, LeCellier....among others. Just not a fan of Coral Reef at all.........

We are on the DDP plan. So I basicly just looked at menus and pick the food I liked. My MIL goes to disney about four times a years. (She there right now) So she was a big help. Do anyone know how to get Coral reef to do special menus....

Sarah

I think your choices are great! We also did a "three generation" Grand Gathering last year and we ate at three of the places you selected-WCC, CM & CP. Everyone had a wonderful time at each! Also thought that our choice of staying at Pop Century was a great choice as we also had many "first timers" to Disney. :thumbsup2 Have a fabulous adventure!! :grouphug:

I called CR directly in order to schedule the diver for DD's 14th bday a few weeks ago. Coral Reef 407-560-6784 you can talk to Debi or any of the other managers. They did a menu for us and then also arranged for the diver. I know they do it for bdays and anniversaries I am not sure what else. If you get them to do it for first trip please let me know because I will definately be booking it for members of our family that this will be thier first time next trip. :) Course I have to share a picture of DD and her diver lol.

This was our #1 meal on our last trip. I almost cancelled because of the bad Coral Reef reviews. We loved everything, and it was very kid friendly- so loud that our 2yo blended right in. We really enjoyed it.

I like the TS you have, lots of variety.

Wispering canyon - I like this place for an early lunch.
Coral Reef - Only dined here once a few years ago. I would recommend either Le Cellier or the Rose & Crown, instead.
Crystal Palace - My FAVORITE!!!!
Chef Mickey - Breakfast was good, but dinner was awful. One of the worst meals I've ever had at WDW. Won't go back.
50 Primetime - Another FAVORITE!!!

You've got some good choices there.

The only additional suggestion would be to see if your mom could watch the kids so that you and hubby could have a nice dinner by yourselves at one of the nicer restaurants, or at least a quiet drink at the pool bar.

If you are staying at POP, you and the kids will have a great time. The giant icons are fun, the pools are great. We couldn't get our DS away from the Goofy Pop Jets splash area.

Oh, one more thing. :) You might want to pick up an autograph book at one of the Disney gift shops. Some of the books have sleeves to put pictures from character meals next to the characters' autographs. It's a great (and cheap) way to create a keepsake from your trip.

CP and CM are character meals.

I think your list is good. The one thing I'd say is relax. No matter where you eat, you'll probably have a great time as long as you don't stress out about it or get your hopes to high for anything in particular. Go with an open mind. Let the trip happen to you.

I've found the only time I've been let down was when I violated the above. When I tried to make our meals everything to everyone. The best trips we had were when we could walk inot a place and get a table, which isn't so much an option these days. Even if the particular place wasn't spectacular or perfect, the fact that it was somethign new made it enjoyable. But then, I also have a few favorites. Discover yours.

No matter where you eat it will be new for the kids and fun. Personally, Some meals you just want to eat, eat quickly and move on - not have a big production. We like one character meal per trip, since they aren't very relaxing or quiet. Fun, but not something we want or need for every meal. You are stimulated all day every day, so a few quiet meals are nice. Indeed, if you find yourself craving a quiet meal, head to a resort mid-day. Especially one of the QS places. The MK resorts are a good option (except that the Contemporary's QS isn't all that).

If you try to max out on your first trip, what will be left for your second trip?
