I need to choose a resort for our possible stay next summer. I was just pricing packages on Disney.com. I priced all of these deluxe resorts, although with different types of rooms...I was thinking beach club because their rack rates are lowest but surprisingly the others are competitive.
PLEASE do not move this to the resorts board...I don't know them like I know you guys ;) .
This is for 7 nights, plus a 7 day ticket with hopper option, and the dining plan. I decided on the dining plan because since our last trip 2 of my "children" have become "adults" (they will be 14 and 11) and it will cost lots more to feed them. The 8 year old won't be a problem.
These are the choices:
beach club--water view room
polynesian--garden view (lagoon view is $300 more than the other choices)
GF--garden view (I could NOT believe it!)
contemporary--tower room lake view ($200 more for MK view)

AKL is out of the ballpark...and we have one too many kids for WL.
We have already stayed at the contemporary MK view and loved it, but only for 3 nights....wondering if the pool is adequate for a weeklong trip in July...and stayed at the Poly as well, but I know some of their garden view rooms are really parking lot view, aren't they? Don't know about GF garden view.
Any input from you guys? My other option is Beaches Jamaica for 6 nights, too, but the more I look at this the more I miss WDW.

How important is the VIEW for you????
I would LOVE to stay at the Poly again (it was my first resort I stayed in WDW.....
I would stay at any of the monorail resorts :) Next in line would be the Boardwalk resorts.

I would do the Beach Club or the Poly. The Beach Club has such a nice swimming complex and you are close to Epcot and MGM. The Poly you have the monorail and the Valcano pool plus they are refurbing all of the rooms there!

I stayed at the BC in a water view room and absolutely loved it. So close to Epcot, and the Boardwalk is right there!!!!!!!! The bus service while we were there, which was April 18 - 21, 2004, was outstanding. We never had to wait for a bus. I would definately stay there again!!!!!

With the ages of the kids and the pools being important, I'd also go with either the Poly or the Beach Club.

I've stayed in lots of garden view locations at the Poly, and never had a bad location.

From a convenience standpoint, which parks do you expect to spend the most time at? BC makes getting to Epcot or MGM a snap, and the Poly cannot be beat for Magic Kingdom access.

I don't think you can go wrong with ANY of those choices!

From your choices I'd pick BC first for location and pool. Second choice would be GF.

We would be going to all of the parks near these resorts. DH's favorites are Epcot and MGM and he likes the walk (we used to have BWV points and stayed there several times). I love MK. The only one we are iffy on is AK, and we will probably even go there to try the new ride since it should be open by then.
The best view we ever had was an MK view at the contemporary for NYE 03. The downside of the contemp. does seem to be the pool--not that great a pool compared to poly or GF.
I clicked on the "virtual tour" for every one of these resorts on Disney.com. The hawaiian music really took me back to our first Poly stay! But the GF looks gorgeous too! Back in 01 when you could still pool-hop to YC/BC if you were DVC, we went to stormalong bay and the kids loved it!
So, so hard to choose!!! Jamaica is getting less and less attractive, even though the all-inclusive is about the same as this, plus I'd spend less on T shirts, pins, etc....I know DH would rather go to WDW. Maybe we can go to Jamaica in 07.

What about 2 rooms at POFQ. That might be less then some of the single room deluxe. You are never far from the pool and the pool is really great.
