We had to put our family's cat to sleep yesterday. Jellybean was with us for 17 years and we all loved her so much. I'm feeling really sad. Figured I better get on the boards to find something to be happy about.

Our trip is coming soon. Can somebody remind me of a happy feeling to look forward to?

Wow, Cyndiu, 17 years of companionship, fun and love Jellybean shared with you guys. How nice. And I know you would have loved another 17 if you could. She is at peace now. I know one of the happy feelings we have here is looking forward to seeing our pets at that bridge some day, that Rainbow one. A big  fo you and your family, Jellybean sounds like she was a joy......

Just this side of heaven is a place
called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet
goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and
play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and
comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those
who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember
them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss
someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and
looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs
carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you
cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses
rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once
more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never
absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
 to you onthe loss of your beloved pet.:(

Happy thought, huh?? Ummmm..... the castle bathed in color at night...... the bounciness of Tigger ....... cooling down on Splash Mountain!:D

our Jasmine was the best dog in the world .....well to us she was.....she was a granddog to my MIL and loved my son and son in law.....we had to have her put to sleep a few years back.....we also had a vacation planned two weeks after that.....I think that we needed to get away from here to help us heal.....and that will be good for you too......I promise......hugs and petloss.com was the best site I could of gone to.....I knew after going to this site that Jasmine was okey and having her put to sleep was the right thing to do

I am so sorry. It is so hard to lose a wondeful pet. 17 years is a long time to have a cat with you. She must have been a very special cat to have lived so long.

So sorry to hear about Jellybean. I know you will miss her and think of her often.

Now, go get out your WDW stuff and start planning what you will do on the day you arrive. That should lift your spirits some.

I am so very sorry for your loss of Jellybean

I agree, maybe get out some planning materials or some pictures and hopefully dreaming of some happy times ahead :)

I'm sorry for your loss...you sound so sad. It's hard to have our pets euthanized but so necessary isn't it?

I'd suggest going over to the theme park forum here at the DIS and distracting yourself by making a bunch of fun plans for your trip.

*hugs*

Many   What a glorious day it will be when we meet all our faithful friends at the Bridge.

A WDW thought that always brings a smile to me is standing in front of the fountain in EPCOT at night and watching the waters dance to the music.

Once again, I'm so sorry for the loss of your pet.

I am so sorry about your loss. You were a special mom to Jellybean for many years and shared lots of good times together. Your sadness will diminish slowly with time, the memories remain.

So I see that you're going in a little over a month. Where are you staying? First trip, or one of many? Any special plans on your itinerary? Let us live vicariously through you!
