I need baby shower gift ideas quick!

....how handy are you (or anyone that you know)?? Another thing that I've done is to make a toy box with a top that is hinged. Then, we paint it to match the room decor and, using a sheet from the baby's bed ensemble and foam, cover the top with the foam and sheet to make it into a bench. Finally, using a piece of the room border (if it's available) border the top edge of the box. We've used this idea twice and, let me tell you, it was the HIT of both baby showers! ( you can fill it with a couple of books and some educational toys)

....I think one thing that NEVER is overrated is a new diaper bag - they go through a lot and, the mom can have different ones to go with different circumstances (ie: extended visit, one that matches the stroller, 'shopping' diaper bag, etc.) ...then, you can fit it with some 'essentials' - bottles, travel-size wipes, change-of-clothes, onesie, bib, etc....good luck!

I did something similar to this for a good friend, but instead of a diaper bag, I got her a large hobo style bag that had several pockets. I knew her taste and this was definitely up her alley. She could use it as her own bag, a diaper bag, or both. BUT, I wouldn't have done that if I didn't know her well enough to know her style. Personally, for me, unless the bag is specifically what I registered for or you know me well enough to know my preference in bags, I'd rather pick out my own diaper bag. For example, the bag I'm using for my son is a messenger style bag that says "Stormpooper" on it and is designed in such a way that it looks like it has a Stormtrooper helmet within the words. I'm a huge Star Wars fan so that works perfectly for me. I'm having a little girl this time and was given a bag that is all pink with flowers, hearts, and butterflies. NOT me at all...I wouldn't be carrying that ever. I exchanged it for a big black and green one that isn't all frilly.

I do think the idea is great...as long as you either know the taste of the person or get one they registered for. At least in my view, anyway.

What about the Pampers 1/2 size diapers that they sell at Sam's (maybe Cosco too?) they are bigger than a 1, but smaller than a 2. Also both of my kids are skinny so the larger diapers would have been in the closet for years. My DD went from size 3 to pullups.
The half sizes are great!! I got a box of those at my baby shower and I loved them. I don't really use them now, but definitely loved then when DS was smaller (he's currently in a size 4).

I wouldn't buy winter clothing, you have no idea what size the baby will be by then and it could all go unused. I would get 6 of the $10 items. If she didn't want them, she wouldn't have registered for them.

...I don't go for those 'frilly' ones either (of course, I had three boys - LOL!), but you can buy a 'generic' one that will match her stroller - BTW ~ LOVE the 'stormpooper' thing! :rotfl:

Oh I'm picky about generic ones too. I'm kinda crazy like that.

See I'm a simplest.. I dont even own a diaper bag! I just throw an extra diaper in the car and we are off!

OP I'm sure what ever you get her will be appreciated!

I had a diaper bag but it was the same bag for anytime- never had more than one- and many times it was just a diaper in my car LOL...no need to lug that bag around everyplace!

I'm so glad I am not the only one!! For awhile I had the fully stocked diaper bag for dd#1 including travel sized baby wash.. one day I looked at it and thought when in the world am I ever going to need to give her a bath besides at home.. .from then on it was and extra diaper and outfit in the car.. :thumbsup2

Yea, diaper cake is definitely one of the best choices of baby shower gifts.
If you are looking for the perfect gift, I will strongly suggest a diaper cake
to you.
