I need an opinion from a Floridian, please?

My DS (9) has a show in a few weeks. He has been taking acting, and has a show in March. He will be doing a scene with another boy, and then a monologue. The monologue is funny.

He is a boy who knocks on a woman's door to ask her where all the kids are. He explains that he has just moved into the neighborhood, and has been riding his bike up and down the street all day and has not seen ONE kid. Not even a dog. He talks about how he just moved here from Forida, and tells what the kids did all day, rode bikes, played baseball, ect. He says he is getting worried, and asks if he moved into a town with just old people. (a bus pulls up) He is shocked to hear the bus, and says the kids were in school? Then says shaking his head, this is a weird town.

It is really funny, and if you know that kids get out of school much earlier than the kids up here, you can tell it is probably early June.

Anyway, for his "costume" I was thinking of a baseball cap. His teacher thinks a cap would be perfect. I was thinking of a Marlins cap...but are there any other BIG teams the kids wear down there? Something to make him look like a true 10yo Floridian?

I was raised in S. Florida and every kid had a Miami Dolphin shirt. But my brother's usually wore shorts, no shirt and barefoot! LOL

I was born and raised in Central Florida and currently live in Sarasota.....I think football is more prevalent here among kids....maybe a UF hat or a Bucs hat. go for the Gator hat!

A Miami Hurricanes cap is what people seem to wear around here. or Gators or Seminoles.

I would go for the 'Noles... FSU

but, yorou best best is the Dolphins... EVERYONE has Dolphins stuff and is obsessed with them. Actually, we recently moved up here from FL and my DH has signed up for life feed from the games on his computers since, as he puts it, "We only get the d--- bengals up here"

As a proud FSU alum, I would say that he should wear an FSU hat.

Seeing as how FSU and Miami sells more merchandise nationally than UF, it might be easier to get a Seminoles or Hurricane item.
