No offense taken you know I love ya girl![]()
Aww right bak at ya
This is really bothering me I think that it is so stupid to have to upgrade. All they have to do is add fondant.I would call your planner and have her explain to you why????
It's silly.
The $30,000 is for everything, lodging, airfair, attire, etc. We are over the $10,000 in Disney expenditures but under the $15,000 required for November. I did initially inquire about a custom wedding becuase I was intrested in some of the options but I was told our guest count was too low.
Okay - I think I am understanding what you are wanting. You want the standard intimate cake - but you want fondant instead of buttercream. Right?
If that is correct - then yes you can do that. I also had Jennifer at the beginning, and while things may have changed since my wedding, I was told by her that I could have fondant on the cake for a $50 fee. However, you DO realize that you will still have buttercream on the cake. Just as much as if you didn't have the fondant, as the bakers need something for the fondant to stick to. So, you will really not be helping yourself with that.
I did upgrade my cake to a custom cake, and it wasn't a $450 fee. It was more like $200. And then I had the white chocolate castle. So in the end, I spent around $350. While we did have plenty left over for everyone to take home and share, it was also the cake of my dreams and I wouldn't have had it any other way....

So, here's what I need:
If you were an intimate/escape bride & had these types of changes could you please post a pic of your cake, your wedding date, your first name & your planner's name. Also, if there was a charge to make any changes if you could please post that as well. I am not opposed to paying a small upgrade charge but paying for a full custom cake is ridiculous.
Thanks for the help - I didn't know they used butter cream to stick the fondant to the cake. So now I need to be searching for other icing options; hmmmm......
