We're going home to VWL - arriving Sunday Dec. and leaving first thing Saturday Dec. 11. We usually buy the UPH with the 10% discount for DVC member, but we know this trip we won't be going to any of the water parks, and we really don't need anything but park passes. I'm totally confused by the pass prices listed on this and other sites, though. There are prices listed for UPH for purchases made in advance and at the gate. The in advance price appears to be 10% off the gate price - does this mean anyone can get the 10% off the UPH? I always thought it was a DVC perk.

Anyway, we want passes for 6 days, but don't know what to buy. Can anyone help me with this? Maybe I just have vacation planning exhaustion, but I just can't figure out what makes sense. Thanks in advance.

With the DVC discount, you get 10% off the gate price. But you can drop the first and/or last day. I believe with advance purchase you cannot drop days.

The advance purchase price is not availble for DVC stays on points. The advance discount is about 7.6% (compared to the 10% DVC discount) and , as already noted , it must be purchased for all days of the stay including arrival and departure days. This UPH must be purchased prior to arrival.

The 10% DVC discount is available to members at the resort only and usually the first and/or last days may be dropped from the pass.

Also, don't forget to look at just the Park Hopper tickets. These have advance purchase discounts, and if you purchase them via hotwiresavingsclub.com, you can get the plus options at the same price as no options via Disney...then, any unused days (including the pluses...never expire).

Like Beca said look at the park-hoppers. Shop around- I found 7 day park-hopper+ at AAA for $325. You can use any or all of the days/ save unused days for a later stay (not sure if other people can use them). If you would pick up an AP later with the hopefully special deal the + part could be used for water parks etc. later. I think an UPH with the discount is around $335 for 6 days but the numbers seem to change all the time. We're going to BCV in Jan and was going to buy the 7 day park- hopper but now will do the AP instead.

Hotwire Savings Club has the best prices on Park Hopper passes. If you do a search on the Theme Parks Attractions & Strategies board you will get a lot of good info. :D

I just did a search on Hotwire Saving Club last night and someone posted $303 for a 7 day PHP (4 pluses) including tax and shipping. ($245 for child) That's $43.20/day.

at ticketmania

you can get a 4dayPHP (1 option) for $220 with the mousesavers discount

you can get a 7 day PHP (4 options) for $320

I always forget to cancel my membership with clubs - so I end up paying more for them.
