My family and I will be going to WDW in Jan. 2004 and plan on doing alot of eating. We will be there for two weeks, but honestly we can only eat out so many days in a row. We do plan on eating breakfast at least 7 days. We are thinking at the following restaurants:

1. Boma
2. Chef Mickeys
3. 1900 Park Fare
4. Concourse Steakhouse
5. Trails End
6. Kona Cafe
7. Whispering Canyon Cafe

Any sugesstions, I did't pick any restaurants in the Downtown Disney or Boardwalk area (I noticed that as i typed). So that may be an option. Any restaurants you would or would not go to. Thanks

If you want to see the Princesses, I'd definately suggestion trying to get the Castle or the princess breakfast at Epcot. I'd also suggest Ohana's or Donald's Breakfastsarous - two of my family's favorites.

You might want to plan for flexibility. It eats up a lot of time, and if you have an up an' at em' bunch, you might not want to sit thru that many sit down breakfasts.

You haven't mentioned where you are staying, but it might be a good idea to either get some stuff for eating breakfast in the room or plan more couter service places, where you can still get good food but don't have to wait for it to be served.

I know there's a bakery on the Boardwalk that a lot of people swear by. Plus, your own resort's food court/counter service place might have some great food and save you time.

Not knowing the group you are going with is hard. I know my clan is one of those that gets up and it's like - "let's eat! I am hungry and ready to go!" Last trip we went for 7 days and we had 2 character breakfasts and ate at Kona once. So I guess your plan might be about right - eat outhalf the time. But 14 days is a long time to always be going out.

Of those you listed, I think Boma and Kona Cafe are great choices. I love the Boma breakfast, but I've only had dinner at Kona Cafe (it was outstanding though, and I've heard great things about the breakfast too). I will be trying Concourse Steakhouse for the first time in a few weeks, but the menu looks really good. Another suggestion I have would be the 'Ohana character breakfast--the food has been quite good when I've been in the past.

I know it's so hard making these sorts of decsions Mike, I'm having a hard time of it myself.

I like your list but noticed that Cape May Cafe wasn't in there - it's a great breakfast buffet and with some great character interaction with Chip 'n' Dale and Goofy. It's a good place to eat before EPCOT and is in the Boardwalk area, it's so pretty first thing in the morning.

Definitely Crystal Palace at MK... our favorite meal in all of WDW!!!

SPOODLES!!! Spoodles has some of the best breakfast around. The French toast is honestly the best I've ever had in my life.

Cape May is good as well; beach time Goofy is cute. :) It's funny, as I sit here and think about places where I've enjoyed breakfast, a lot of them don't even serve it anymore!

Also, unless you have breakfast vouchers that only work at restaurants, I'd suggest maybe eating in your room every once in a while. Sometimes a big sit-down breakfast is just too much before a full park day. I find dinner out to be a better option, because you get more, different choices and afterwards you can go back to the room and sleep it off. :smooth:

I would definitely keep Boma and Trails End. Boma is yummy and it's fun IMO to visit Fort Wilderness at ANY time of day. The Crystal Palace is my favorite place to have breakfast.

My Wife loved the Tonga Toast at Kona Cafe when we were there in Dec. We also loved eating at Spoodles for breakfast. They have a breakfast platter that is HUGE, you get a sample of everything on the menu, and it's all you can eat. We are going to try Boatwrights on our next trip.

With the exception of Concourse and Trails End I have picked all of those places for breakfast for my upcoming vacation!

I chose Spoodles for my Epcot day because the menu looked great and then I could easily get to Epcot. If I go to Epcot early that day, I could also get to Spoodles easily. I really try to make the meal near my hotel or near the park I plan to visit so that I have some flexibility.

Enjoy!

Mike:
I eat breakfast out everyday, so here are some of my favorites (not on your list):

Boatwrights (the Blueprint omlette is great)
Maya Grill--fine buffet
Olivia's--good table service spot
Spoodles--already mentioned in previous posts
Yacht Club Galley--has a buffet and table service breakfast.

On your list, Kona is a favorite. We did Whispering Canyon, but won't go back due to the "antics". Food was ok though. Boma buffet is a must.

personally I'd skip CM's and do Cape May, 'Ohana's or Breakfastosaurus instead.

Are you planning these breakfast for non park days? If not, I'd pick an in park restaurant
I'd also skip concouse and do maybe RFC at AK instead.

On our most recent trip, the best breakfast we had by far was at Trails' End, at the Ft. Wilderness Campground.

We usually only go for a week so a lot of breakfasts are quick. But we usually do Cape May breakfast buffet and then we also go to Coronado Springs Pepper Market.

Our favorite breakfast spot...spoodles at the boardwalk. Great prices...great food.

I'm not a huge breakfast eater so we only have tried a few places but I would definately suggest Boatwrights. They have the best french toast I have ever had!

We like the antics at Whispering Canyon so have tried breakfast a few days. It is OK, nothing special.

The character breakfasts do take up alot of time!! If you have children, they will want autographs from all of the characters and you have to wait until they all come around to your table! This can be time consuming:( Your best bet may be to get something quick from the food court at your resort for a couple of breakfasts so you can have more time at the parks and be there when they first open and are less crowded? Since you will be there for 10 days, you may want to try 1 or 2 character breakfasts. Chef Mickeys is fun and Crystal Palace in the MK is with Pooh and friends! Enjoy!:)
